Pre-1993 NFL players made a significant difference in the successful
development of the National Football League. The wives of pre-93 NFL HOF players have decided that they shall speak out on behalf of all vested NFL husbands, wives and widows to educate and inform the media and the public at large that the owners have failed to adequately recognize these contributions but could do so by making one final increase in compensation to the Owners Legacy Fund. This would be seen by all involved as an everlasting gesture to resolve the issue of equitable pension parity. It should be noted that for 2016 the team salary-caps have been increased by 15 million dollars, resulting in an increased annual cost of 480 million dollars to the National Football League. This amount is a supplement to, or an addition to, their pre-established salary-caps. In comparison to this amount, the estimated cost to the NFL through the Legacy Fund Equitable Pension Parity Plan would only amount to a cost of 200 million dollars or six million two hundred fifty thousand dollars per team, per year. In six (6) short years, Pension Parity would be permanently and fully funded. The Legacy Fund Pension Parity plan would result in an increase for pre-1993 vested players of three hundred five dollars ($305.00) per month for each year of tenure. As previously accomplished through the Owners Legacy Fund, all negotiations on this issue should be held outside of the control of the players collective bargaining agreement or player union representatives. We, the undersigned, support the pre-1993 Pro-Football Hall of Fame wives and widows in their intent to obtain Pension Parity equality for all pre-1993 NFL vested players. Print Name
