The course sets out to familiarise participants with the history of events leading up to
the issuing of the Fuel Tank Safety program. It continues by providing a detailed
description of the overarching Airworthiness Directives (SFAR 88 & JAA INT POL
25/12), the concept and application of Critical Design Configuration Control
Limitations (CDCCL) and Fuel Airworthiness Limitations Items (ALI). Using
theoretical and specific examples, areas including Fuel Tank Ignition sources,
Flammability Reduction Systems, the changes to Instructions for Continuing
Airworthiness and their availability to and use by maintenance personnel are also
addressed.
