Building a better world for children

My Child Ambassador Guide

making a difference ...

one child at a time

WELCOME to the World Vision Child Ambassador family!

You have joined a team of committed world changers who impact countless
children in need of support.
As a Child Ambassador, you will:

>>> seek opportunities to share child sponsorship with your friends, family
and community in a way that fits into your life

>>> communicate with your local Volunteer Leader on a regular basis

Being a Child Ambassador can be challenging, but it will be one of the most
meaningful and rewarding experiences of your life. So before you begin and
throughout your service, we encourage you to pray for yourself, for the
people you present sponsorship to, and for the children we serve.

Step

Get to know your Child Ambassador team

>>> Your Volunteer Leader is your primary point of contact on the Child
Ambassador team. You received his/her contact information in your
welcome email. If you didnt, please call our Helpdesk (see page 9). Your

Learn about child picture folders & locate
your personal sponsorship link

>>> Child picture folders are your primary tool for connecting children in
need with people who care.

>>> Notice the expiration date printed on the inside left flap of each child
folder. After this date, the child goes back into the system to be sponsored
elsewhere.

>>> Order new picture folders at least 2 weeks before the expiration date
and/or before a sponsorship event.
Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for
themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and
judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

>>> Find your Child Ambassador source code number printed on the
inside left flap of each folder. To accurately account for each sponsorship,
make sure your source code number is printed on each return card you
send to World Vision.
