Cross Country wraps up

in Kalispell on Saturday
We say it every year, so
we may as well say it again;
its hard to believe that one
of our fall sports regular
season has already came to
an end, as the Glasgow boys
and girls cross country
teams competed in their
final regular-season meet
in Plentywood this past
Saturday.
It ended on a happy
note as both the girls
and
boys
dominated
in this final brush-up
meet before they head to
Kalispell to compete in
the Class B division of the
Montana All-Class State
Championship meet.
For the Scotty boys, the
McKean twins (pictured at
right) did it again, placing
first and second, while
Wilson Overby placed
third in under 18 minutes.
Leading the Scotty
girls with 4th and 5th place Scotty sophomores Ellis (left) and Merlin McKean crossed the finish line #1 & #2
finishes were Emily Kolstad in the final regular cross country meet of the season held in Plentywood. Photo
above was from the Glasgow Invitational on a rainy day in Kiwanis Park.

All United States Veterans who served on active duty
during the Vietnam War are eligible to receive the pin,
regardless of where they served. The pin was authorized
by Congress in the 2008 National Defense Authorization

Soma Dis Deli to host A Teacher for All Montanans

Melissa Romano, running on the Democratic
ticket for the office of Montana Superintendent of
Public Instruction, will be at Soma Dis Deli for a Meet
& Greet on Tuesday, October 18th from 4 to 6 p.m.

This is an important election, says Sarah Partridge,
and this is an opportunity for Glasgow to be heard
from. Glasgow schools have had some great successes
to celebrate in the past year, from the implementation
of the Scotty STEM (science, technology, engineering,
and math) program, to the Prostart culinary and
restaurant management program, and other exciting
new career and technical education programs.
To date, most of these exciting new programs
have been achieved with only local support, Sarah
continued. Glasgow already has a great relationship
and reputation with Elsie Arntzen, the Republican
candidate for this office, and this event represents
a unique opportunity to build a similar bridge with
Melissa Romano should she win, to ensure that
Glasgows students receive every available opportunity
from the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
Everyone who believes education is a vital part of
the upcoming election is urged to attend.
Melissa is currently a 4th Grade teacher at Four
Georgians Elementary School in Helena. She received
her B.A. and M.S. of elementary education from the
University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and has
experience with the both the Helena elementary math
support group, and the MT Council of Mathematics Melissa Romano, candidate for Montana Superintendent
of Public Instruction, will be in Glasgow this Tuesday.
