Health Literacy M. Arsenault
I attended my first videoconference at the CLC in
Laval Liberty HS. Extreme high tech! Cameras,
video equipment, speakers, screens, everything!
The health literacy videoconference involved 8
off-site locations across the province and was
broadcast from the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
This conference was put together by Literacy Vol-
unteers of Quebec and the subject was Health
Literacy. It was so interesting. The public, the A view of our group as seen on the video screen across Quebec
medical professionals and the health institutions
told us how we all need to work together to find
solutions for people with low literacy skills to improve the care they receive regarding health. For
several years I have been looking into ideas for our students and our tutors to help themselves
when dealing with health issues. I will continue to keep researching the needs of our learners.

Space Center M. Arsenault

On Friday May 21st some Learning Exchange stu-

dents and myself went on an outing to the Cosmo-
dome Space Center in Laval. We were taken on a
guided tour, took part in a science project and
learned about Canada’s space arm! Everyone had a
super time!

joys of literacy to many children and have instilled in
them a love for reading. In particular, we would like to thank Valerie
