INTRODUCCIN
De dnde viene el idioma Ingls? Cmo hizo una pequea isla lejos de la costa de
Europa para producir y propagar un lenguaje, actualmente hablado por casi 2 billones de
personas? Dnde fue originado y cmo se desarroll?
El ingls es la segunda lengua ms hablada en el mundo, con ms de 400 millones de
nativos. Aunque el idioma Mandarn o chino es hablado por ms personas, el ingls se ha
extendido mucho ms que cualquier otra lengua.
Dnde se origin? Este fue trado por primera vez a las Islas Britnicas, 1500 aos
atrs, por tres tribus Alemanas. El nombre Ingls se deriva de una de estas tribus, Los
ngeles, quienes hablaban un lenguaje llamado english. El idioma ingls tiene tambin races
Anglo-Sajn, incluso lenguajes como dans, Norse y el Norman han recibido su influencia en
aos. Cuando los Britnicos empezaron a tener contacto con otras naciones, muchas palabras
extranjeras fueron adicionadas al vocabulario. El ingls moderno incluye palabras del latn,
greek, french, german, arabic, hindi, italian, malay, dutch, sanskirt y por consecuencia del
portugus y del espaol, slo nombrando unas pocas lenguas de ejemplo.
Hoy en da, el ingls es la lengua de las ciencias, la aviacin, de la computacin, de la
diplomacia y del turismo y es la lengua oficial de casi 50 pases. La mitad de los tratos
comerciales en el mundo, son realizados en ingls; las dos terceras partes de todos los
documentos y artculos cientficos estn escritas en ingls, y casi la tercera parte de los
correos mundiales son escritos en ingls. Este idioma tiene el vocabulario ms extenso que
cualquier otra lengua, con ms de un milln de palabras (si incluimos expresiones slangs,
palabras cientficas y trminos tcnicos).
Lo anterior tal vez puede intiminarte como estudiante del idioma Ingls, pero recuerda
que seguramente podrs reconocer muchas palabras comunes a tu propio lenguaje cuando
ests estudiando y a pesar de que el Ingls tiene un vocabulario muy extenso, necesitars slo
una fraccin de ste para comunicarte efectivamente.

I study in Los Angeles University. It is in Chimbote. I have several friends there. They
are good freshmen. Miss. Taylor teaches English very well. She is an American Teacher.
Dr. Rogger is the Rector of ULADECH. There are more than two thousand students. Most
of them are from Trujillo, Lima, and Piura. Professor Gutierrez says that Robert Green
has to study more because he has bad qualifications. He studies Philosophy. I am from
Lima. I have to go to the University at 8 oclock in the morning everyday and today is
the first day of my classes.

REGULAR VERBS
Los verbos regulares se reconocen cuando estando en presente al cambiar al pasado se
le tiene que agregar ed o d. Existe unas reglas para reconocer o saber cundo a un
verbo se le agrega ed o d en el pasado.
RULES
a. When the simple form of a verb ends in e, only d is
added.
b. When a one-syllable verb ends in a single consonant
(excepting c, w, x or y) preceded by a single vowel,
the final consonant is doubled and ed is added.
c-ending verbs add k before the suffix.
