Mr.

Jody Moore
High School Coordinator
Southwest Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics
50 Hillcrest Medical Blvd. MOB 1, Ste. 303
Waco, TX 76712

Dear Mr. Moore:

I am contacting you in regards to the High School Graduate Assistant position that was posted
on the NATA website.
I am currently attending Southern Utah University and will be graduating this coming April with
my Bachelors of Science- Athletic Training degree. To be accepted as a Graduate Assistant, I
know I will have the essential skills, qualifications and necessary experience that make me
eligible for this position after graduation. As a senior, my rotation is at Cedar High School
working under a Certified Athletic Trainer. I have enjoyed the high school setting very much
and believe that I would be a great fit for this position because as a student, I get a first look into
what it takes to be a certified athletic trainer in a high school setting.
I comprehend the responsibilities I would have being an athletic trainer at a high school. I also
understand the hours a high school athletic trainer works and the many different sports they are
required to cover. Being at the high school level right now, I am privileged to be able to have
more hands on experience and to evaluate more injuries because I am the only student trainer
compared to the college setting. I enjoy the experience I am receiving with the different sports
and the interaction I get to have with the students. I am a dedicated student and hard worker. I
will work my hardest in my classes to achieve my masters degree along with serving as an
athletic trainer.
I am certain that I am qualified for this position and that I will not be a disappointment in my
duties as a Graduate Assistant. I will benefit and have a positive reflection on Southwest Sports
Medicine and Orthopaedics along with Baylor University.
I may be contacted at 435-262-0216 or by email at rabertajo@hotmail.com. I look forward to
hearing back and having the opportunity to meet with you soon.
With best regards,
Raberta Johnson
