Greeting to all in the Name of Jesus our Lord,

The unfailing love of Jesus, the care and warmth me and my family received from the Jerusalem
MTC Delhi and the Mission family at Wardha and the continuous support and guidance by the
Vicars Rev. Jose Punnamadam and Rev. Jai Varghese drove me through a fascinating and
enriching roller coaster ride of almost 10 months.
As we are on the threshold of entering a new year of Wardha Mission, the year which passed by
was full of surprises, promises, and challenges for our mission. The answered prayers for a
fulltime resident missionary clergy at Wardha, beginning of endeavors such as Women and
Farmers Self Help Group, Good Samaritan Fund for the needy, Arpandhara initiative of
feeding the hungry, equipping our farm land with New methods of farming along with
implementing Drip Irrigation System, Campus beautification drive at Wardha Mission centre
were the select few surprises God had in store for us.
We are also, at present, facing a few serious challenges. The functioning of Compassion Child
Sponsorship Programme has affected throughout our country due to stop payment by the Home
Ministry of India. The livelihoods of our 25 staffs who are totally dependent on our Compassion
Projects are at stake. Another major challenge is developing our School. The lookout for a new
property for our St. Thomas Eng. Med. School (STEMS) is in the channel and soon this year, we
are definitely expecting some good news.
Just the other, I had felt stressed out and worried about the challenges we were facing, and thats
when I came across an article by Norman Vincent Peale. These are some of the truest and the
most beautiful words ever written for a person who feels the way I felt the other day: Why, my
soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise
Him, my Savior and my God (Psalm 42:5). Hope is a small word, but it is one of the most
powerful. Why? Because in hope lies the power of the human soul to turn to God and live as if
His promises are going to come true. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD
(Psalm 31:24). The key to survive any challenge or crisis is Hope. Hope that Jesus loves you.
Hope that He is, right now, working out a solution for you. Hope that the future you place in His
hands will be better than the present you hold in your own. For I know the plans I have for
you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and
a future (Jeremiah 29:11).Our Hope is in our Lord, and we know that He is in control. Victory
is ours, and we will claim it, because the mission is His. Those who hope in the LORD will
renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they
will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31). The future you place in Jesus hands will be better
than the present you hold in your own. Norman V. Peale. In Jesus hands we re-dedicate and
place this coming year to experience His mighty doing. Amen
