Syllabus Analysis: The Academic Committee in cooperation with the

AD will review a sample of each instructor's course syllabus to insure
that proper attention has been given to meeting published syllabus

Student Evaluation ofInstruction

Purpose
The student evaluation of instruction is an important assessment instrument for
the evaluation (by students) of the instruction of individual courses. The results
can indicate to the instructors the areas that they are doing well and/or the areas
thatneed improvement in either course content orinstruction.
Procedure
1.
2.

3.

The evaluation instrument will be made available on Populi at the

end of the semester and should be completed by the last day of
classes.
Instructors must explain to their classes the importance of thestudent
evaluation ofinstruction. Students are required to complete the
course evaluation instrument to see their grade in a particular
course.
In class, instructors must announce that the course evaluations
are open and must be completed by the end of the semester.

Responses
The responses from the student evaluations will be sent to each instructor
after grades are completed. The AD will also receive acopy.
Exceptions
Courses with less than four students will not be recorded in order to
protectstudent identity and insureconfidentiality.
Evaluating InstitutionPublications
All publications are evaluated, revised, and updated on a regular basis. The
principle publication is the annual College Catalogwhich is revised and updated
annually under the leadershipof the AD. Prior to inclusion in the CollegeCatalog, all
curriculum changes must be approved by the faculty, administration, and Board
under the guidelines outlined in Curriculum Development Review. The Student
Handbook is revised and updated each year by the Dean of Students and other
employees involved in studentaffairs.
The Board of Directors has the final authority for policies published in the catalog
and the handbooks of the institution. To allow a reasonable time for review and
questions, members of the Board of Directors will be provided the proposed
catalog or handbook at least one week prior to any vote for its approval. The
existing publications remain in force until new publications are approved by
theBoard.
