Techfest InnovationChallenge invites
all theinnovators,entrepreneursand researcherstoshowcase
their transforming ideas, innovations and prototypes for the betterment of India and its economy.
Techfest Innovation Challenge asks for the most ingenious solutions for a smarter, safer, more
sustainableandconnectedIndia.

Objective:

Participants have to come up with any innovative prototype or idea which solves the current
problemsexistinginoneormoreofthefollowingsectors,moredetailsareprovidedlateron:

Purpose:

regardingthegovt.Policiesfacilitatingandpromotinginnovationandresearch
3. To inspire other people to innovate and contribute toimprovetheinnovationcultureinIndia
alongwithpromotingMakeInIndiaandSkillIndiacampaign.

Expectationsfromapplications:

1. Creativity and originality : The innovation must be ingenious and novel in its area of
applicationandshouldhaveahighpotentialforleavinganimpactonthesociety.
2. The innovation
should not
, by any means, be or include copied or stolen work, such
applicationswillbedisqualifiedimmediately.
3. Ideas : The ideas should not require any technological advancement for implementation in
India atthefirstplace,Ifsothentheparticipantis expected tobringprototypeofthemodelin
support of the idea.
ForExample:
The OddEven system in Delhi wasanideawhich doesnt
require any technological implementation or advancement,but it wasanideawhich proved
tobesuccessful.
4. Applicable solutions : The innovation should addressanysocietalorindustrialprobleminthe
provided sectors.It could be in the form of an add on or a completely new model but the
overallimpactofthetechnologyshouldbepositive.
5. Potential for commercializing the product/idea : The innovation or idea which has high
possibility to convert in acommercialmodelincoming2or3yearswillbemorevaluablethan
the others.Those whichhave a
higherutility
orproblemsolvingcapacityaremorelikelytobe
selected.

For all the applications an online evaluation will be done by the Jury consisting of anExpert panel
related to the concerned sector (willbe released soon). Scoringwill be done on the basisof thepre
establishedcriterion.

JudgingParameters:

1. Creativity andnovelty
: How novel is theidea? How different is itfrom thecurrentsolutions
available? The innovation must be ingenious and novel inits area of application and should
haveahighpotentialforleavinganimpactonthesociety.
2. Originality :
The innovation
should not

3. Scalability :
Does the solutionis scalabletoahigherlevel, howeasy is to scale up and what
arethefactorsaffectingit
4. Robustness:
Is the solution implementable as described? Is it repeatable? Is the solution
feasiblefordiverseandchangingconditions?
5. PotentialofImpact
:Howdoes it benefit society?,TheScaleofproblemitsolves,Intensityof
thesolutionandnumberofpeoplecateredfromthesolutiondirectlyandindirectly.

TermsandConditionsforParticipation

1. The mode of conducting India Innovation Initiative 2016 is English. Hence, all applications
must
besubmittedinstandardwrittenEnglish.
2. The decision of the Jury shall be final and binding. All participants have to abide by the
decision of the jury. No interim or later communication with regard to the decision or its
veracityshallbeentertainedandshallbeviewedseriously.
3. Violationof
anyrules

4. Techfest holds all the right tochangethedates forthesubmissionandtheparticipantswillbe
informedaboutthesamebyEmail

during Techfest 2016
17 would be awarded a Certificate of Participation. The top entries from this
