I present my resume in response to the recent advertised Edison Engineering
Development Program at GE Power business.
The program requires candidates who are enthusiastic to develop technical excellence. I
yearn to grow my expertise in Power Generation Industry and there cant be a better
opportunity than being a part of GE Power Business.
My graduation in Electrical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and
Technology (Pakistan) has provided me a deep insight in all three sectors of Electrical
Engineering i.e. Generation, Transmission and Distribution other than advanced
mathematics which is also the requirement of this program. My passion for engineering
secured my position among top 30 in the batch of 220 students with a CGPA of 3.85. My
final year project (fyp) has exposed me to the concepts and implementation of design,
advanced power monitoring, control, automation and technical report writing. I gained
initial managerial experience while working as head of registration for IEEE Power and
Energy Society which is the international chapter of IEEE during my bachelors.
My work experience as Trainee Substation Design Engineer in GE Grid Solutions has
boosted my professional and personal growth as an Engineer. Within a year, I have been
able to complete three wind power projects being a trainee engineer that proves my
dedication to the field. It has helped me develop skills such as successfully handling
difficult pressure situations, eloquent communication skills, meeting deadlines, and has
given me an insight on business-critical assignments.
I have been able to learn wide variety of tasks such as preparing SLDs, CT/VT and battery
sizing calculations, preparing relay and control panel schematic diagrams, designing of
protection logic diagrams, control and interlocking diagrams, auxiliary load list that has
laid my foundation as a design engineer at the very beginning of my career.
I have also been able to gain some industrial experience while working as trainee at Aisha
Steel Mills. My learning areas include control and automation using distributed control
system (DCS).

I see this opportunity as a perfect match for my yearning to grow technical skills in power
business and pursuing Masters in the same field from such a prestigious university. I put
