MAYANTOC
Introduction
Public markets in the Philippines provide an active public space for local trade and
commerce. The term tawaran is the relationship of Filipino consumers and
producers, wherein the consumers try to ask for a discount on the price of a specific
item(s) from the producer. One of the services that the local government should
provide to its constituent is a public markets. It offers low-risk business
opportunities for entrepreneurs and feed money back into the rural economy where
many traders grow raise and produce their products on their backyards, farmlands
and wetlands. It is also a key factor to the growth of the economy of rural and urban
municipalities.
Mayantoc is one of the municipalities of Province of Tarlac. According to the 2010
census, the town has a population of 29,987 people. The Municipality of Mayantoc is
bounded by the municipalities of Sta. Ignacia to the east, San Jose to the South, San
Clemente and Camiling to the North.
One of the sources of income of Mayantoc, Tarlac comes from the market collection.
Due to the booming of economy of Municipality of Mayantoc, the public market itself
cant accommodate the emergences of new businesses and vendors stalls. Because
