Esta gua bsica le ayudar a elaborar citas en el texto y referencias bibliogrficas, de
acuerdo al estilo de citacin del International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Citas en el Texto
Dentro del texto de una publicacin las referencias individuales se presentan en un formato abreviado que hace
referencia a la bibliografa. Estas referencias abreviadas, dentro del texto se denominan citas en el texto.
Las normas Vancouver, utilizan principalmente el sistema Cita-Numeracin, el cual consiste en numerar
consecutivamente las referencias, en el orden en que son citadas, usando nmeros rabes entre parntesis:

Primera cita en el texto

Se calcula que 30% de los pacientes es devuelto a la atencin primaria(1)

Segunda cita en el texto Las Facultades de Medicina sealan que el Internista no debe desaparecer por su rol integrador(2)
Tercera cita en el texto

En el mbito hospitalario, el rol del internista tendra su mxima. Expresin en los hospitales comerciales(3)

Ordenar las referencias usando los sistemas Cita-Apellido y Apellido-Ao, adems de nmeros en sper ndice en
las citas, tambin son aceptables, pero depende de los requerimientos individuales de cada revista y/o unidad
acadmica.
