Guidelines :

1 session of 50 minutes duration is taken as 1 hour for calculation here. Courses are
assumed to be of 3 credits and in few cases 4 credits.

In every school, allotment should start from Sr. Professor and if any faculty members are
left without subjects or with lesser teaching load, it will be Asst. Professors and not Sr.
Professors
&
Assoc. Professors. May be, Asst. Professors who are doing Ph D, can be given exemption.

More than one teacher taking the same subject (sharing the subject for the same class) to be
avoided.

Administration work includes:

Institute development work
Department development work
Lab development work
Responsibilities in student activities such as Club Incharge, Riviera Incharge, etc.

Extension work includes:

Arranging industrial visits to students
Organizing guest lectures
Conducting / attending seminar /conference / Special programmes
Consultancy work
Visiting industries, etc

10 hrs. of research work per week should result in atleast one refereed journal publication in
a year
(if it is a joint publication by 2 faculty, then it should be 2 journal papers per year)

For those who do not have journal publication in 2008-09, this 10 hrs. per week research
allotment will be cancelled and one extra theory subject to be allotted during the Fall
Semester of 2009-10. If journal paper is published during June-November09, then the extra
teaching load will be removed during the Winter Semester of 2009-10.

For those having ongoing funded projects worth > 5 lacs this condition of producing
journal paper will be exempted for one academic year during the initial stages of the project.

Making the juniors, Ph D research scholars and the TRAs / TAs to take the class on behalf
of seniors should be avoided.
