Federal and state OSHA regulations require that an employer establish an emergency
action plan for all potential emergencies that can be expected in the workplace. These
emergencies include accidental release of toxic gases, chemical spills, fires, explosions,
and bodily harm and trauma caused by workplace violence.
Noise or unwanted sound, is one of the most pervasive occupational health problems.
Exposure too high levels of noise causes hearing loss and may cause other harmful health
affects as well. The extent of damage depends primarily on the intensity of the noise and
the duration of the exposure.
Current federal and state OSHA regulations require that employers ensure that only
trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck.
