Dear Government Officials: J am currently a candidate running for NYS Senate’s 60" District, and have made my campaign about taking on the corruption in government and the Political Party Bosses that control it, Thave personally passed both Republican Petitions, and Conservative Opportunity to Ballot Petitions, collecting voters” signatures at their homes in order to have pr where the “power” is taken away from the Party Bosses and given back to the voters, As you may assume, the Political Party Bosses are not happy allowing the voters to exercise their constitutional rights in having a choice in who should represent them ‘On Monday, August 8, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. (Erie County Board of Elections-134 W. Eagle St. Buffalo, New York), the Republican and Conservative Political Party Bosses are trying to invalidate my Conservative Opportunity to Ballot Petitions thereby depriving voters of their constitutional right to vote in a primary. ‘They are attempting to assert that the signatures personally obtained by me at the voters’ homes should not be counted because the Party operatives obtained the signature prior thereto, that the signature is hand printed or address not verifiable, ‘The corruption in government is well known and controlled by the Political Party Bosses and the appointed public officials that protect their power. ‘The Party Bosses allowed their operatives to collect signatures 30 days prior to any challengers to their handpicked candidate and ‘again violate constitutional principles by locking up registered voters by obtaining their signatures first. Recently, numerous individuals, who signed a Conservative Opportunity to Ballot Petition that would allow voters to participate in a “Write-in” Primary, have contacted me. Based upon their statements, it appears Conservative Party Boss Ralph Lorigo, and the Republican Party Bosses, have hired a private investigation firm, Peter M. Vito & Associates, to go to voters’ homes and intimidate them. Voters are telling me they feel intimidated and coerced into signing false affidavits because they are being given the impression that the investigators are law enforcement officers and that laws may have been broken, One woman claimed that the person identified himself as a FBI agent. Multiple people said they did not get a copy of what they signed, did not review what they were signing, and one woman wanted to change het affidavit to say that I did verify who she was and swore her in verifying same. Peter M. Vito & Associates has long been known for being politically active and for using heavy handed tactics in order to persuade voters into changing their minds on signing a valid Petition in order to defeat having a primary or recall lection. These underhanded and illegal tactics are being used to prevent voters from exercising their constitutional rights and opportunity to vote. I personally witnessed and obtained many of these voters* signatures at their homes, had them each identify themselves, and swear to the same that they were that individual, In 2014, the Republican Party Officials used Peter M. Vito & Associates to try to intimidate me from running for NYS Senate (I have their internal emails from Jack Cookfair to numerous Republican officials). In addition thereto, we have heard from numerous individuals that signatures obtained on the Conservative Petitions, for the Party Bosses” handpicked candidate Chris Jacobs, were obtained fraudulently. Said people who turned in these signatures are part of the Political Machine that are given “no-show” government jobs and receive lucrative government contracts to perform alleged private services for the government. In addition thereto, 1 am submitting herewith a copy of documents sent to me by an anonymous person, whom I presume, but do not know for sure, to be an Erie County Employee. Said documents allege Chris Jacobs is violating federal election campaign donation laws. They allege that Chris Jacobs is violating federal campaign contribution limits by funneling excessive amounts of money over the legal limits to Jeb Bush's presidential campaign. This is alleged to have been done by a County Worker, who works underneath Chris Jacobs, that does not make a yearly salary high enough to afford such contributions. Since I have a license to practice law, I am under an ethical obligation to report said disclosure to the appropriate authorities. Lastly, a couple of Supreme Court Judges" law clerks have turned in Petitions and have been seen actively engaging in polities pertaining to this race on behalf of the Party Bosses’ candidate. Given the on-going multiple corruption investigations currently underway involving the WNY Judiciary that will hear and rule on this case, the conflicts of interest obviously presented, the fact that the Judicial Code of Conduct prohibits this behavior. These judicial codes are implemented to prevent judicial corruption, maintain independence in our courts, and reinforce the public’s perception of the integrity in the rule of law. I am asking for federal investigations to be conducted and federal review of my signatures obtained. Thave taken the liberty of notifying the media of said matters due to the fact such important constitutional issues are involved with the right to vote, that corruption in government and violations of the law are allegedly occurring, and lastly due to the fact that | have previously reported death threats to the Department of Justice and local law enforcement without receiving a retumed call, [will not be intimidated by these Party Bosses, and will stand and fight against corruption on behalf of the voters. Tlook forward to your responses. Respectfully, cc: Media 1. Marina Rehorik is the Special Assistant to County Clerk Chris Jacobs. Wages at Clerk's Office: $41,317 2. The guilty plea proceeding was held before Senior United States District Judge Sterling Johnson, Jr., at the United States Courthouse, 225 Cadman Plaza East, Brooklyn, NY. The guilty plea was announced by Loretta E. Lynch, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York and George Venizelos, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Office (FBI) The defendant admitted to the Court that during the 2010 election cycle, she recruited “straw donors” who made political campaign contributions in excess of $10,000 to the campaign committees of two Candidates for the House of Representatives, who are identified in the indictment as Candidate A and Candidate B. The defendant also admitted that in furtherance of this criminal activity, she either made advance payments to the straw donors who made the contributions, or reimbursed them after they made the contributions. United States Attorney Lynch stated: "We and our partners in the FBI are committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process and will aggressively pursue anyone who attempts to circumvent federal campaign financing laws. Enforcement of these laws ensures that all candidates compete on a level playing field and that the public knows the true source of a candidate's campaign funds.” Ms. Lynch expressed her grateful appreciation to the Public Integrity Section of the Department of Justice for its assistance throughout the investigation and prosecution of Durand. ‘The maximum term of imprisonment for the crime to which Durand pleaded guilty is two years. (WIVB) ~ Republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush was in Buffalo Tuesday for a campaign fundraiser. Abreakfast fundraiser was held at the Atrium at Rich's on Niagara Street, Tickets cost between $1,000 and $2,700 per plate. The brother and son to two former Presidents is trying to become the front-runner in the crowded GOP field. ‘twas clear Jeb Bush's campaign strategy in Buffalo during this visit was to cater to his loyal supporters, instead of trying to reach a broader audience or gain publicity. In his first trip to Buffalo in recent memory, Jeb Bush did not speak to media except a quick parting comment out the window of his SUV announcing that he had a “great visit” That was all he said to our News 4 team covering his visit, driving away after a little more than an hour inside the Atrium with his supporters. The media was not allowed inside. |n fact, members of the media were all kept off property altogether, and at one point, a bus was parked in front of the entrance to obscure the view of the waiting cameras. We don't know how many people attended this fundraiser or who they are, but we do know Chris Collins was ‘among the attendees. And, based on the lack of media access, we can probably guess at the real purpose of the presidential candidate's visit here. na decidedly blue state, and at this point in the 2016 race, this place is likely more important for collecting Capital than it is for collecting more votes in the next presidential election, Especially in a GOP field that seems to get more crowded every day, the candidate with the most in the coffers stands a better chance of setting himself apart from the pack and maybe securing the nomination, ‘Another Republican presidential hopeful, Marco Rubio, is scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Buffalo later this summer. We have received no word at this point about how much money was raised for Jeb Bush's campaign here during his visit this week. Oldaker Attomey at Law 1050 17th Street, N.W ‘Washington, D.C. 20036 Dear Mr. Oldaker: This refers to your letter of October 20, 1981, requesting an advisory opinion on behalf of the Metzenbaum for Senate Committee ("the Committee") concerning application of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended ("the Act"), to acceptance by the Committee of volunteer services donated by an individual artist who is a foreign national, Your letter indicates that the Committee contemplates obtaining a donation of volunteer services from an artist who is a foreign national. The artist will create for the Committee an original work of art that will be used for fundraising purposes by the Committee, You explain that the artist will create for the Committee "an original work of art by handpainting a number of gouaches which are then reproduced in limited editions as a unique Work of art by a unique Process by persons working under the artist's supervision.” The artist proposes to allow the Committee to produce a limited edition from the original works of art (gouaches) created him, with the Committee to pay all costs of production. The first question you ask is whether an individual who is a foreign national, according to the definition in 2 U.S.C, 441e, may volunteer his services to the Committee to the same extent as would be permitted under the volunteer services exception in 2 U.S.C, 431(8)(B)(i). As you know, 441¢ prohibits any person who is a foreign national from making "any contribution of money or other thing of value” in connection with any election to any political office. It is also unlawful for any person to solicit, accept, or receive any prohibited contribution from a foreign national. The current prohibition on contributions by foreign nationals had its origin in the Foreign Agents Registration Act Amendments of 1966. Pub. L. No. 89-486, 8, 80 Stat. 244 (1966). At that time the prohibition applied to "any contribution of money or other thing of value" by an agent ofa foreign principal in connection with any primary or other election to any political office. 18 U.S.C. 613 (1970). The ‘scope of the current statute, 2 U.S.C. 441e, clearly reaches beyond elections for Federal office, and the term contribution as used here expressly includes "money or other thing of value." Compare 2 U.S.C. 441a, Accordingly, the Commission concludes that a foreign national artist would be prohibited by 2 U.S.C. 441e from donating his uncompensated volunteer services to the Committee to create an original work of art for the ‘Committee's use in fundraising. The second question raised in your request is whether the contribution exception for uncompensated volunteer services provided by an individual to a candidate or political committee would apply in the specific situation you describe. This question is not reached since the Commission has concluded in responding to your first question that the foreign, national artist may not donate his volunteer services to the Committee for the purposes described in your request. This response constitutes an advisory opinion concerning application of the Act, or regulations prescribed by the Commission, to the specific transaction or activity set forth in your request. See 2 U.S.C. 437f. Sincerely, (signed) Frank P. Reiche Chairman for the Federal Election Commission
