These problems are a violation of the Chicago Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance (RLTO) and my
lease. Therefore, I am requesting that you remedy these problems within 14 days. If these problems are not
fixed within 14 days, I will deduct a portion of my rent for each day after the 14 days that the problem remains.
The amount I withhold will reflect the reduced value of my apartment, and as indicated above, I will reduce my
rent by the percentage of the monthly rent stated above. I will continue to make this deduction until the
problems are fixed. Please inform me as to how you intend to correct this problem. I can be contacted at:

Please keep in mind that according to the RLTO, Ch 5-12-150, A landlord is prohibited from retaliating
by terminating or threatening to terminate a tenancy, increasing rent, decreasing services, bringing or
threatening to bring an eviction action, or refusing to renew a lease agreement.
