The meeting was called to order.

1) Introduction of the Council Members.

2) April minutes were approved.

3) Announcements:
a) Treasurer report: available funds $6,561.36
b) Departmental announcements:
i) HR: open enrollment until May 15, 2010
ii) Athletics: son of Basketball coach passed away unexpected; SAC will sign a card

4) New Business
a) Staff picnic is July 15:
i) SAC members to help 10 ± 2 pm; meet at graduation green
b) SAC awards:
i) Nomination forms to be passed out at the picnic
ii) Email will be sent out for first meeting
c) SAC t-shirts have been ordered and will be ready for the picnic
d) Pre-paid legal program:
i) SAC was under the impression after meeting with Dick Gartrell in March that this program
will be offered ± this is not the case.
ii) SAC members will conduct a poll in their respective departments to find out if the staff
would like to add this option to their benefits package (this is employee paid).
iii)SAC will vote on this at the June meeting.
 e) Kaiser¶s Farm Fresh 2 Go program:
i) Will be starting in June.
ii) HR to send more detailed information to interested employees.
f) Open discussion:
i) Question was raised if the Chancellor would be able to meet with the SAC before the
scheduled July meeting ± unfortunately he is booked until then.

5) Old business.
a) Subpoenaed state witness:
i) Christa will wait to submit the SAC proposal for this policy addition until the votes for the
pre-paid legal plan are in.
b) Bring child to work day recap:
i) Went very well; between 45-50 kids enjoyed this year¶s program.
ii) Will need to provide more food / snacks next year.
