a. How important do you think a lesson plan is to a successful lesson? What features do
you think a lesson plan should include?

Lesson plans are an important support guide for teachers, it helps them to prepare contents and
choose strategies more suitable for the classes, besides are useful to manage the time and assess if
the teaching programs are working properly. Beside a plan can help a substitute to smoothly take
over a class when the teacher cannot teach.
I think that the essential features of a good lesson plan are
1. Learning Goals
2. Resources
3. Standards
4. Activities

b. Do you think it is a good idea to strictly follow a lesson plan?

Why?

Taking into account that all students do not have the same level of learning is not a good idea to
strictly follow a lesson plan, because there are many lesson plans that require adjustments and it
would be interesting that teachers had a chance to design their own plans and choose what contents
they want to cover and what methodology want to use. However is necessary understand that many
times teachers forget what the purpose of the lesson is and at that moment is good to have a lesson
plan so they dont have to improvise.
c. Some people think that lesson plans severely restrict teachers creativity. Do you
agree? Explain your answer.

Many times is usual to find lesson plans which were designed previously by other teachers or
publishing companies, but even so a teacher can adjust the lesson plan according with the
necessities of the class and give it a personal touch, the only that he need is to have initiative
