Positioned at a height of 5,362m, the Everest Base Camp is ranked amongst the finest

adventure locations in the entire Himalayas where millions of trekking enthusiast approach
every year. Also popularly known as South Base Camp, trekker needs adequate time to get
adjusted to the high altitude as well as low-pressure environments. You cant hurry yourself to
explore the beauty of Mother Nature here in this part of the world. There are many good
things to come during your Everest base camp trekking that you should wait for with
patience.

Taking a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is the best way to save some time & energy.
After arriving at Luka which is at 9,383 feet, your real trekking adventure starts. From
this tiny & rural area in the Khumu region, trekkers require a minimum of 2 days to
arrive at Namche Bazaar that lies at the altitude of 11,290 feet. From here onwards,
the hikers take a day or two break for acclimatization.
Mounting from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche at 12,696 feet, the hikers are gracefully
greeted by the mesmerizing Ama Dablam snow covered peak. Then considering a
descended test alongside the Dudh Koshi River and crossing many rivers, the trip
ascends again with thinning wind. Dingboche & Periche are soon to be hiked with
adequate acclimatization after arriving at Pangboche. Following that hikers are off to
Lobuche, then to Gorak Shep, the last pit stoppage before arriving at the Everest Base
camp. Mounting to Kala Patthar, placed right on top of the South Base Camp offers
hikers the opportunity of witnessing the Mount Everest up close in person.

The ideal time to opt for trekking the either side of the monsoon season: from
starting of March to mid of May and from starting of September till middle of
November. These periods are perfect for crystal-clear panoramic sight of the
Himalayas, burgeoning rhododendrons & liberal weather condition. A personalized
Annapurna base camp trekking can also be added to your Everest base camp
itinerary for more adventure.

For many centuries, this segment of the Himalaya has been occupied by Sherpas. Hence,
their knowledge regarding the area is much better. They come to act very effectively if
hikers lost their direction or way. Many local sherpas also speak very good English, so you
dont need to worry about communication. They can be hired from the Namche Bazaar as
porters who will carry a huge amount of load without losing their speed while ascending
with you.

Ghorepani poonhill trekking can also be a wonderful edition to your Nepal trekking. You
can request your tour operator to add several other trekking destinations if you want
more adventure.
