The Tastiest Breakfast

(Situation on vocabulary notes, unit 1, p-p. 11-12)

Bakers family was a very big one. The members of this family were Mr Tim Baker and Mrs
Elisabeth Baker, their 4 children Leo, Mathieu, Augustine and Vanessa, Mr Bakers parents John
and Lily and Mrs Bakers parents George and Luisa. They all lived in one house. They seemed to be
a big but very happy family. Each morning grandparents were preparing the breakfast for their
children and grandsons, but unfortunately their tastes were different. So, grandmothers had to
prepare different food. Leo and Mathieu were fond of milk with chocolate and sandwiches with
beacon, while Augustine and Vanessa liked porridge and marmalade. The adults drunk just orange
juice and went to work. This was happening nearly every morning.
It was Monday, when all the member of the Bakers family fallen asleep. Just Vanessa, the
youngest child, had waked her up at 7:25 a.m. and she waked up all the members. They all were out
of spirits. Everybody was in a hurry. Grandparents decided to make quickly a breakfast, while
younger generation were clothing themselves. Granny Lily was peeling the bananas and the
tangerines for the fresh juice, while Granny Luisa was boiling the porridge. Grandfathers had
decided to make their contribution to the breakfast, so, they were scraping the peel from the
tomatoes and boiled eggplant. Suddenly, they had heard a crack, this was the chair on which Mrs
Louisa was sitting. Fortunately, she did not fell down. But, Mr George decided to steady the chair.
There was little time left. Mrs Lily was asked Mr John to add some sugar to the porridge, then she
told him to look after the porridge, not because she all the time was winding him round her little
finger, but because she went to butter the toasts. Mr John thought that it would a great idea to add
some dried fruits to the porridge. She added them and went to the dining room. Mr George saw that
the porridge was boiling very heavily and decided to add some milk and some raisins. After that
came Mrs Luisa and turned the cooker off. Mrs Lily took all the odds and ends and made up some
sandwiches. Even if they were working very quickly, there was no mess in the kitchen. The
breakfast was ready. All the members of the family were seated around the table. They all tasted the
porridge, it was incredibly delicious. The milk with chocolate had a special flavour, while the fresh
juice was very tasty. They all had eaten with a great appetite and they stated that that was the
tastiest breakfast in their lives.
