Tips for JEE MAINS 2017

When you are preparing for IIT JEE 2017, do remember that your marks in
Class XII board exams will play a vital role. So, you must pay appropriate
attention to your board exams.
Here are some other preparation tips for IIT JEE that you must keep in
mind:
Understand the structure of the Main exam
The JEE Main lasts three hours and consists of 90 multiple-choice
questions. The exam consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics. Each section contains 30 questions. All sections
are weighed equally.[1]
For each question answered correctly, four points are awarded. For
each incorrect answer, one point is deducted. No points are awarded
or deducted for unanswered questions.
Start with Basics
Grill yourself into the basics until all your fundamentals are very clear as
JEE Main is specifically designed to test how well students have grasped
the topics and how they apply them to a given set of problems.
Beware of using too many reference books
Below is a list of important IIT JEE preparation books that you can use

Study by Plan, not by number of hour

Your daily goals will need to include:

topics you will study,

preparing notes for the topics you have studied,

solve practice questions or numericals related to the topics, and

solve at least one practice paper, sample paper, mock test, or IIT JEE
past year papers a day.
Never quit until you have achieved your daily targets.

Proper utilization of time:

You must follow a strict timetable to utilize your time in the best way.
Solve more and more problems, discover more and more new tricks. You
should make notes for the topics in which you are weak. This will help you
to perform well in exam. Start early in the morning, dont be a night owl.

Group study:
Constructive competition and group studies keep you motivated. But

network with right kind of fellow aspirants to form study groups.

In the end, dont underestimate the contribution of stupid friends in the
study group. To explain anything to them, you have to go to such details
and break concepts into such bite-sized chunks that you never forget
them again even if you want to. So, help weak students whenever you
can.
Revise thoroughly:
You should revise the syllabus as many times as you can. Doing so will
help you in the following ways:
It will increase your test-taking speed.
It will help you overcome panic.
It will give you a clear picture about the topics youre weak in.
Spend the most time studying your weakest topics.
As you study for the JEE, you'll want to devote some time to every
topic, even if you're already confident that you know some of them
very well. However, to get the best score possible, you'll want to
devote the majority of your time to the topics that you're not
confident in. Doing this ensures you get the biggest improvement
possible from your studying effort.
If you're not sure how to allocate your time, try reviewing your
grades from school spend your most time studying the subjects
that you get the poorest marks in.
Eat & sleep well:
Having a good diet is as much essential as studying. Your brain needs
regular energy from food to work efficiently. You must have at least 6
hours of proper sleep to relax your brain.
It is always better to start early in the morning and revise towards the end
of day.
