Ahmad is a hardworking boy. He is ten years old. He studies at SK Sungai Selinsing. He likes reading.

It was a fine day. Ahmad went to school as early as a bird. He enjoyed going to school as he loved his
teachers who gave him lots of knowledge and taught him to be a good person. While he was in the classroom,
Encik Fahim, his English teacher told him and his classmates about story telling competition. He also told them to
look at the school notice board for the details. Therefore after recess, he walked along the corridor, they saw a big
and colourful poster about the competition. The English Language club of their school would organized the
competition. Ahmad was interested to join the competition and show his talent in story telling.
The next day after school, he went to school library. There were many pupils in the library. All books were
arranged neatly on the wooden shelves. He quickly walked to English section to choose one interesting book to
read. The book was written A Playful Monkey as its title. He read the book half of the page and borrowed it from
the librarian. Then he went home to continue reading. At home, he read the whole book and memorized the story.
He practised telling the story in front of his brother, Munir.
It was Sunday morning. The story telling competition was held in a big and beautiful school hall. All the
participants and audience were in the hall. The participants were sitting anxiously waiting for their turn to tell their
story. Ahmad was one of them. He was nervous before the competition. His teacher told him to be confident to
deliver his story. He thanked his teacher for his useful advice. He promised to try his best in the competition. Soon
after that, Puan Maria, the master of ceremony called Ahmad for his turn. He presented his story well and did a
good job in the competition. He felt relieved.
After ten minutes, Puan Maria announced the winner of the competition. Ahmad was the champion. He was
very happy to hear that. Encik Hassan, the headmaster gave away prizes to all the winners. He was very proud of
Ahmad.
It was a happy day for Ahmad. It is worth trying something we are interested in and we must be confident
in everything we do.
