New Products
NEW NON-ORGANIC VEGETABLE OILS
Watermelon Seed Oil, Cold Pressed (N)
INCI: Citrullus vulgaris

Origin: USA/Egypt. Cold pressed. Watermelon oil or watermelon seed oil is

also known as Ootonga oil or Kalahari Oil. Africa is believed to be the place of
origin of watermelon; historians trace its origin to the Kalahari desert in Africa,
hence its synonym, Kalahari Oil.
Watermelon Seed Oil is light, non-greasy and melts easily into the skin. It is
suitable for all skin types, including dry, oily, acne-prone and maturing skin.
Watermelon Seed Oil provides nourishing moisture without clogging the
pores, which makes it an excellent choice for balancing the skin. The array of
potent vitamins and minerals contained in the oil feed the skin and help it to
flourish.
It has a high content of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), which help to restore and maintain the elasticity of the skin.
The oil consists of up to 65% of (the Omega 6) linoleic acid (18:2) as the major fatty acid. This high content of
Omega 6 gives the skin and body a boost of essential fatty acids at a very good price. The oil contains up to 14%
(Omega 9) and up to 1% alpha linolenic acid (Omega 3).

Skin Care
The light texture, moisturizing capabilities and stable shelf life of watermelon seed oil make it a highly suitable
emollient in natural baby care formulations and light body emulsions. Watermelon seed oil does not clog pores.
The rich composition of essential fatty acids contained in watermelon seed oil help nourish and restore elasticity
to the skin. It is recommended for use in skin care formulations for all skin types, including dry, sensitive, oily,
acne-prone or maturing skin.
Due to its high zinc content it is a an excellent addition to skin lifting or rejuvenation products. Watermelon
seed oil is also a perfect choice for inclusion in hair care formulations as it is non-greasy yet highly moisturising.
Shelf life: 1.5-2 years (see label for actual best before date).
Please see page 39 for your free Watermelon Seed Oil Recipes.

New Products cont/NON-ORGANIC VEGETABLE OILS

Cucumber Seed Oil, Cold Pressed (N)
INCI: Cucumis sativus

Origin: Chile. Cold pressed. Cucumber Seed Oil is cold pressed from the cleaned and
dried seeds of cucumbers. It is then carefully filtered to obtain a brilliant, clear yellow
oil with a mild, fresh cucumber aroma. The process creates a dry, smooth, soft and
delicate oil that can be added to any products for sensitive skin types or conditions.
Cucumber Seed Oil contains about 9-16% oleic acid and about 60-69% omega 6
linoleic acid making it an excellent choice for use in moisturising formulations for the skin and hair care. A high
content of natural tocopherols and phytosterols further enhance its protective and nutritive benefits for
personal care.

Skin Care
Cucumber Seed Oil possesses a remarkable amount of phytosterols making it a noteworthy ingredient in
personal care formulations. Studies indicate that phytosterols help the skin strengthen its lipid barrier, restoring
proper moisture balance, smoothing the skins surface and improving skin elasticity. Phytosterols are also
known for their ability to nourish and stimulate the skin cells to encourage regeneration of healthy skin cells.
Cucumber seed oil contains a significant percentage of oleic acid and linoleic acid and can be effective in
treating dry and any sensitive skin type, eczema-prone, psoriasis-prone, acne-prone and sunburned skin. It is a
good choice for inclusion in formulations for revitalising maturing skin and in eye care products. Furthermore,
the high tocopherol and tocotrienol content indicates that cucumber seed oil would be effective in defending
skin cells from free-radical damage. Shelf life: 1.5-2 years (see label for actual best before date).
Please see page 39 for your free Cucumber Seed Oil Recipes. See pages 24-27 for Spotlight on...Cucumber Seed Oil.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Refined (N)

INCI: Opuntia ficus indica

Origin: Morocco. Refined, from seeds. Prickly pear is a genus consisting of

about 200 species of cactus. Prickly pears are the fruits of this resistant
cactus that are native to Mexico and South America, but that are grown in
many areas of the world, including South Africa, Australia, United States
of America, Tunisia and also grows in the desert in southern Morocco,
which is where our oil is sourced from. Prickly pear produces broad flat
leaves with sharp spines and flowers that turn into a bulbous-shaped fruit, which can be eaten or used to make
confections.
Our oil is pressed from the seeds of the prickly pear. Prickly Pear Seed Oil is a very valuable oil and one of the
more rarely produced oils. When cold pressed, you can also get an organic oil this costs between 300 and 800
euros a kilogram. Also, you can get a macerated prickly pear seed oil but apparently it is not worth using so to

keep it affordable for Aromantic customers we have chosen the refined oil, which is a reasonable price.
Whichever the method of extraction, it has a low yield, only about 5% of oil is in each small prickly pear seed.

Skin, Hair & Nail Care

Prickly pear seeds and oil contain considerable nutritional value, according to a study published in the March
2011 issue of the "International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition." Prickly pear seeds are a good source of
several minerals, including calcium, with 470 mg per kg, potassium, with 533 mg/kg, magnesium with 117 mg/kg
and phosphorus with 1,627 mg/kg. The fatty acids in prickly pear seed include a high content (up to 65%)
linoleic acid (Omega 6) - an essential fatty acid, which soothes and refreshes the skin - and up to 25% oleic acid
(Omega 9). It is very rich in Tocopherol, or Vitamin E and sterols (approximately 10g per kg), which gives it a
special ability to protect skin against free radicals as Vitamin E is an antioxidant.
It is light, stable and versatile oil, which absorbs easily and quickly into the skin and improves skin elasticity. It is
a powerful moisturiser and leaves the skin feeling velvety soft.
All these factors make Prickly Pear seed Oil an excellent choice for mature, aging or damaged skin. Prickly Pear
Seed Oil can also be used to moisturise dry and damaged hair and to restore the health of nails and cuticles.
Shelf life: 1.5-2 years (see label for actual best before date).

NEW ORGANIC VEGETABLE OILS

Camelina Oil, Cold Pressed with 0.5% added Vitamin E Oil (Organic) (N)
INCI: Camelina sativa

Origin: Seeds from UK pressed in UK so low carbon footprint for UK customers. Cold pressed. We are happy to
reintroduce this oil that is organic as we have not been able to get it for a long time. At this time it is the only
organic vegetable oil that we can source with such a high quantity of Omega 3 essential fatty acid [alpha
linolenic acid] (up to 42%) from the UK. The next one down at this time is Organic Rosehip Oil, with an Omega 3
content of up to 36%. Camelina Oil improves the skin's elasticity and gives a glossy luminescence, in fact similar
to Rosehip Seed Oil but Organic Camelina Oil is cheaper than Organic Rosehip.
It is a very dry, thin oil that is easily absorbed by the skin and is hydrating and moisturising. Because it feels
quite rough on the skin it is important to use it very sparsely on sensitive skin, and then always blend it with
softer oils such as rosehip or apricot kernel or a GLA-rich oil such as evening primrose. Because of its omega 3
content, it has similar properties to rosehip oil. However, rosehip oil should be used for sensitive skin and
camelina oil can be used for all other skin types other than sensitive skin. In an anti-wrinkle oil blend, vitamin E
oil is an excellent smooth and soft oil to blend camelina oil or blend camelina with oils that are also thin and dry
but that have a softer and smoother skin feeling, such as rosehip, chia seed, kiwi seed and blueberry seed oils.
For giving dull, dry, lifeless skin shine and glossiness, blend it with avocado, castor and/or moringa oils.

New Products cont/NON-ORGANIC ABSOLUTES

NEW NON-ORGANIC ABSOLUTES

Straight from the Heart

We have 3 new precious absolutes that are used as middle or heart notes in high-end perfumery and
cosmetics.

Carnation Absolute (1)

INCI: Dianthus caryophyllus

Origin: Extracted from carnation flowers from France. Carnation Absolute is extracted from the flowering tops
of carnations and whilst by no means cheap, it has a wonderfully sensuous and slightly herbal scent dominated
by sweet floral with a hint of honey. It is very long lasting as a
fragrance. It is almost exclusively used in very high-end perfumery.
Therapeutically, it can be used to help you move on, be more
motivated and "get a shift on". As you would expect from the exquisite
fragrance, it is an aphrodisiac. It is quite euphoric and very effective at
negating negative aspects of the mind and motions. It does have other
therapeutic uses but they can all be done by other cheaper oils. Buy
carnation absolute as your own personal guilty pleasure!

Skin Care
It works well as a signature fragrance on its own for top of the range
serums, creams and face and massage oils. It also works well in top of
the range potpourris and room fresheners and of course in exclusive
perfumery, including pulse point perfumes. Pulse point perfumes are usually sold in mini roller ball containers,
making them easy to apply to pulse points such as inside the wrist, behind the ears, at the temples, behind the
knees, the back of the neck, the cleavage area, between the toes, ankles, and thighs. To make a pulse point
perfume, blend 2ml of the absolute with 8ml alcohol or vegetable oil and put in a 10ml glass mini roll-on ball
bottles (ref: 9403) - perfect for sales, a luxury gift or for your own handbag!

Suggested Blends
Blends well with Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage, Coriander and Lavender. In classic perfumery it is often used as a
middle or 'heart' note and can be found in perfumes alongside other favourite classics such as Neroli, Rose,
Gardenia and Violet and goes well with woody base notes such as Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla, etc.

Caution
Carnation Absolute should not be used on irritated or broken skin.

Gardenia Absolute (4)
INCI: Gardenia jasminoides

Origin: Extracted from gardenia flowers in China. The scent of gardenia's large white
flowers is often likened so much to jasmine that one of its common names is cape
jasmine. Gardenia Absolute contains a fresh, green, sweet quality that makes it
different from the more narcotic floral notes. Gardenia Absolute is a very complex aroma that is sweet and
earthy whilst at the same time wafts past you with a green breeze. It is
one of the most precious oils in the world, well known for its unique
fragrance. It originates in Asia and has been cultivated in China for more
than a thousand years. It is said to have been first introduced to the West
from the Cape colony in South Africa in the 1800s; in fact one of its
common names is cape jasmine because at the time people erroneously
believed the flower originated in the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.
Known as zhi zhi, gardenia flower petals are used in Chinese herbal
medicine for their antiseptic and calming properties, for treating
infections,

Honeysuckle Absolute (2, 4)
INCI: Lonicera caprifolium

Origin: Extracted from honeysuckle flowers in France. Honeysuckle is a well-known

climbing vine that produces blossoms with a beautiful scent and is found all over the
world. It is an intense, floral fragrance frequently used as a middle or 'heart' note in
perfumes, cosmetics and perfumed toiletries like soaps and bath oils.

Skin Care
It has an uplifting and refreshing effect,
making it perfect for adding to Massage Oil
Blends.
It works well as a signature fragrance - on its
own or blended with other absolutes and oils
- for top of the range perfumes e.g. pulse
point perfumes, serums, creams and face oils.
Pulse point perfumes are usually sold in mini
roller ball containers, making them easy to
apply to pulse points such as inside the wrist,
behind the ears, at the temples, behind the
knees, the back of the neck, the cleavage
area, between the toes, ankles, and thighs. To
make a pulse point perfume, blend 2ml of the
absolute with 8ml alcohol or vegetable oil and put in a 10ml glass mini roll-on ball bottles (ref: 9403) - perfect
for sales, a luxury gift or for your own handbag!
Honeysuckle Absolute is just like the flower, a deep and richly sweet floral. It dissolves feelings of loneliness and
brings about a peaceful nostalgia but choose honeysuckle for the divine luxury of the fragrance and you will be
happy. Put in into your own creams and lotions and hide them away from everyone else!

Suggested Blends
Blends well with Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood.

Caution
Do not use during pregnancy. This oil is photo-toxic depending on the amount used; so if using large amounts or
unsure, do not use before exposure to sunlight.

Origin: Steam distilled flowers of the Davana plant grown in India (mostly Mysore). It has a reddish-orange colour. Davana has a long history of usage in Ayurvedic medicine and is greatly used in the perfume industry for its
amazing fragrance. It changes on every person it seems, so you have to try it on yourself to appreciate just how
lovely it is but most people agree there is a sharp, herbal, mossy aroma with a hint of peach or strawberry.
Therapeutically, it boosts the immune system, relieves anxiety and is very relaxing. In skin care it calms inflammation and leaves skin soft and smooth. It is comforting.

Suggested Blends

New Products cont/NON-ORG & ORG ESSENTIAL OILS

Galbanum (1)
INCI: Ferula galbani flua

Origin: An aromatic gum resin sourced in the mountain ranges in Iran. It has soothing,
strengthening and relaxing properties. Galbanum is the natural partner to Elemi and
Spikenard and together these three are the absolute first choice for eye creams and
gels. You don't have to take our word for it, the Ancient Egyptians were in on the
secret thousands of years ago and used the oils for the embalming process. Galbanum
has a green, leafy and woody (almost pine) undertone and for skin care purposes it is said to remove wrinkles
and boost the skin's renewal process. Although the fragrance is somewhat indifferent on its own, it acts as a
good fixative for other oils, thus enhancing their fragrance in a blend. For people interested in energy work like
the Nogier and Solfeggio frequencies, Galbanum has a low vibrational frequency but when blended with other
oils increases their vibrational frequency or "spin". This makes them much more active and energetic. It works
well in massage oil blends for relaxing and soothing tense muscles, as well as aching hands, feet and joints. It is
also suitable for adding to products for oily skin, acne-prone and mature skin products and scar tissue.

Suggested Blends
Blends well with helichrysum and palmarosa for healing scars and smoothing wrinkles. Blend with fragonia for
release of old emotional baggage and "stuff". Blend with carrot seed and rose or jasmine for mature skin and of
course, don't forget to blend it with elemi and spikenard for the ultimate in eye care.

Not for babies or children.

New Products cont/SPA PRODUCTS

New Spa Products

We are delighted to introduce more excellent spa products from our supplier
in Brittany, France. This company also makes branded products for companies
such as Talgo, Academy, Clarins and L'Oreal. Aromantic has carefully chosen
products from their range that are natural and they also have organic raw
materials in their range. Unfortunately this supplier also produces some
products that contain raw materials I personally wouldnt touch and often contain especially harsh preservatives
so, as always, we had to take great care to find the right products for you. It was tricky as some of their products
contained both excellent raw materials together with very poor choices in my opinion. The result is that we are
delighted to stock three more natural Spa Products with excellent natural ingredients, two new peel-off face
masks and an enzymatic peeling mask. All three powder masks are professional treatments used in beauty
salons or spas but can also easily be used at home. The powder is mixed with water to create creamy textures.
These masks capture the natural power of plants, clays, fruits or seaweeds to give the skin a new radiance.

Peel-Off Marine Silt Mask (N)

INCI: Solum diatomeae, Calcium sulfate, Algin, Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, Maris limus extract (sea silt), Iron oxides
(CI 77499], Citrus limonus peel oil, Rosmarinus offcinalis leaf oil, Magnesium oxide.

Origin: produced mainly from raw materials from Brittany, France. Colour of powder is green-brown. The PeelOff Marine Silt Mask provides efficient facial treatment. When applied as a paste to the face, it rubberises after
a few minutes, due to a natural process of the alginate extracted from seaweeds.
The Peel-Off Marine Silt Mask contains marine silt, which contributes to its brownish-green colour. For many
years spas have been using marine silt as a skin treatment. Its action is due to the penetration of the marine
ions and the thermoplastic properties of marine mud.
Thanks to the properties of the mask the skin is left replenished and moisturised. The rosemary and lemon oil
along with the other ingredients have a pleasant cooling effect on the skin while the mask is on, almost like
menthol. The rosemary leaf essential oil is regenerative, uplifting and moisturising; lemon is astringent,
cleansing and refreshing.

Instructions for using Peel-Off Marine Silt Mask

1 sachet is enough for 1-2 treatments. Mix 30g (1 sachet) of powder with 90g of water or 15g of powder (1/2
sachet) with 45g of water. Place the powder from the sachet into a bowl and add room temperature (about 20
C) water to the powder. Mix vigorously to get a homogenous paste. Apply to the skin immediately and leave it
to perform its action for 15 minutes. It will rubberise on the skin within a few minutes and once rubberised/set
you cannot mix it with water again so: work quickly and only use as much as you need. The mask peels off easily
once treatment is over. NB! Remember that if the masks thickens and rubberises too fast you may possibly have
used water that was too hot. Make sure you use approximately 20C water to make the paste and then the
rubberising process will go slower and you can quietly enjoy your treat.

New Products cont/SPA PRODUCTS & EXFOLIATING AGENT

Enzymatic Peeling Face Mask (N)
INCI: Kaolin, Solum diatomeae, Bentonite, Titanium Dioxide [CI 77891], Maltodextrin, Ananas sativa extract, Carica
papaya fruit juice, Citric acid.

Origin: from more than one country but produced in Brittany, France. Colour of powder is white. The Enzymatic
Peeling Mask is a blend of fruits rich in enzymes (papaya & pineapple). The powder is mixed with water to
create an active, creamy paste. This mask captures the natural exfoliating power of papaya & pineapple
enzymes to gently eliminate dead skin cells. The skin is brightened and the complexion recovers its radiance.

Papaya & Pineapple: a gentle enzymatic exfoliation

Enzymatic exfoliation uses proteolytic (protein dissolving) enzymes to break down dead skin cells. Papaya and
pineapple contain these particularly powerful enzymes respectively called papain and bromelain. These
enzymes promote skin renewal by gently removing the dead cells. The combination of bromelain and papain
form a true natural peeling combination. The 50g and 100g quantities of the mask are supplied in plastic tubs,
the other products are supplied in glass jars e.g. 400g is supplied in 1 jar, the 2000g in 5 glass jars.

Instructions for using the Enzymatic Peeling Face Mask

NEW PUBLICATIONS - Other Authors

AROMATHERAPY VS MRSA by Maggie Tisserand
Newly published in early Spring 2012, this book is crammed full of information about the
problem of MRSA - in hospitals - in the community - in animals - around the world. It also
includes information on natural products that have been scientifically proven to combat
MRSA in a laboratory setting. Essential oils such as tea tree, manuka and thyme are each
profiled in great detail, from their habitat, chemistry and commercial uses to the latest
scientific research proving their effectiveness against MRSA bacteria (also known as the
Superbug).
Other products with proven ability to help with the management of MRSA include allicin from garlic, silver, manuka honey and phage therapy - each has a role to play in
staying healthy or regaining health after suffering an MRSA infection. 'AROMATHERAPY
vs MRSA' is a 160 page paperback book, divided into three parts.

Benchmark Thyme - 15% Discount!

Benchmark Thyme is a unique blend of ethically grown (chemical and pesticide
free) Thyme cultivars, carefully chosen to provide the most effective
composition of anti-bacterial aroma-chemicals, whilst being gentle on the skin.
There are around 350 species of Thyme (many with sub-species) and four
make up Benchmark Thyme - grown and distilled in the UK. The uniqueness of
Benchmark Thyme is that it is a combination of aroma-chemicals that is unique
in its overall composition. Some aroma-chemicals like terpinen-4-ol can be
found in Tea Tree oil and some, like linalool, can be found in Thyme Linalool,
but only in Benchmark Thyme do all of these aroma-chemicals (and more)
come together in a synergistic combination; all from the four thyme cultivars
that Maggie identified. Aromantic has played an active part in supporting
Maggies work and we continue by selling her Benchmark Thyme through our
website.

About Maggie Tisserand

Maggie was one of the first authors on the subject of aromatherapy when Thorsons (Harper Collins)
brought out Aromatherapy for Women in 1985. The book has sold in excess of 700,000 copies and
Maggie has authored or co-authored four other books on the subject of essential oils.
The Japanese publication of Aromatherapy for Women was the stepping stone for Maggie and her
Japanese agents to introduce aromatherapy to the Japanese market and Maggie was (in 1989) the first speaker on the subject.
Aromatherapy has been a passion of Maggies since the early 1980s and meeting the growers and distillers of aromatic plants, in
many parts of the world, has been a joy and an education, with aromatic travel generally taking the place of an annual holiday.
In the early part of the 21st Century Maggie came across internet articles on the emerging problems of SARS and MRSA and began
investigating the possibility that essential oils might be what was needed to combat serious infections. Maggie's latest book
addresses the problem of MRSA and details some well known and lesser known essential oils with antimicrobial properties.

More about the ingredients in
our new Face Masks
What is?
Algin
According to Wikipedia it is an anionic polysaccharide distributed
widely in the cell walls of brown algae, where it, through binding water, forms a viscous gum. In extracted form
it absorbs water quickly; it is capable of absorbing 200-300 times its own weight in water. It gives viscosity to
face masks and the remarkable gelling/rubberising ability to peel-off face masks.

Bentonite Clay
A clay mineral that gives viscosity or a gelatinous consistency when mixed with water and so helps to create the
gelling in a peel-off mask. It also helps to absorb toxins and impurities (excess fats mixed with dirt) from the
skin. It is traditionally used to treat bites, skin infections and skin blemishes and used internally by many across
the world for its healing properties.

Calcium sulphate
It is a crystalline white rock used to supplement calcium and as a filler for the baking and pharmaceutical
industries. It is also used in the brewing industry. It is added to face masks for its absorbent and bulking
properties.

Kaolin
A very fine white clay that is used to absorb excess fats from the skin in face masks and exfoliants. It is also used
as an abrasive in exfoliates and toothpastes.

Magensium oxide
A mineral used as a buffering agent (to maintain a pH value) and thickening agent in face masks.

Maltodextrin
Is a polysaccharide produced from starch and used in the food industry. It is also used in peelers and exfoliants
as a gelling agent to help thicken the other face mask ingredients and also help to draw impurities from the skin.
It also serves to counteract and soothe the strong enzymatic and exfoliating action of e.g. pineapple and papaya
extracts in our new Enzymatic Peeling Face Mask.

Maris limus extract

Sea silt. Is a valuable and purely natural sediment, which forms in estuaries and on the seabed. It is rich in many
beneficial ingredients such purifying clay, trace minerals, sulphur, sea salt and organic matter. It forms the basis
of the well-known La Mer skin care range and they certainly charge a lot of money for it!

Kolbjorns Korner

Olive Leaves
Olive leaves contains a phenolic compound, which is responsible for the main properties of olive leaf, namely
antioxidant and antibacterial. Moreover, olive leaves contain flavonoids and oleanolic acid, which are
traditionally used as scar-forming compounds.

Sepiolite
A clay mineral that is complex magnesium silicate. Has a low specific gravity and high porosity. Due to its high
porosity it works as a bulking agent in face masks, absorbing water and in so doing acting like an emulsifier for
the face mask. It also helps to draw impurities from the skin and to tone the skin.

Sodium diatomeae
Diatomaceous earth, also known as D.E., diatomite, or kieselgur/kieselguhr, is a naturally occurring, soft,
siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder. This powder has an
abrasive feel, similar to pumice powder, and is very light as a result of its high porosity. The typical chemical
composition of oven-dried diatomaceous earth is 80 to 90% silica, with 2 to 4% alumina (attributed mostly to
clay minerals) and 0.5 to 2% iron oxide. Diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of
hard-shelled algae. Source: Wikipedia It has good skin cleansing and oil absorption properties and is used in face
masks for these and its bulking qualities.

Spirulina
Is a helicoidal filamentous alga with a blue-green colour due to the chlorophyll pigment and the phycocyanin
pigment-protein complex. It has the amazing ability to synthesise high-quality concentrated nutrients more
efficiently than any other algae. It provides high concentrations of many nutrients: amino acids, vitamins,
minerals, trace elements, essential lipids, like gamma-linolenic acid and antioxidants such as beta carotene.

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate
Is a colourless transparent crystalline chemical compound. It is used in the food industry and in face masks as a
buffering agent (to maintain a pH value) and as a thickening agent (emulsifier). Also used in toothpaste.

Kolbjorns Korner
Frequently asked Questions regarding
Water-Soluble versus Oil-Soluble Raw Materials
and how they can work together
What products can I add water or glycerine-based products to?
In general terms you can say that active raw materials that are water or glycerine based only dissolve into ready
made products that have water in them, such as creams, lotion, gels, shampoos, etc. If you add these water-or
glycerine-based (i.e. water-soluble) raw materials to an oil blends such as an oil serum, massage oil, face oil, etc
it will by its very nature separate just as oil mixed with water will do naturally. The water or glycerine will end up
in the bottom of the bottle, with the oils floating on top. The same happens if you add essential oils to water,
they will float on top of the water. If you choose to make blends such as these, make the product in opaque
bottles and state on the label, Shake before use.

What about adding Vitamins to products?

Vitamin A Palmitate and Vitamin E Oil are best dissolved in creams, lotions and oil blends. Adding these vitamins
to toners (which are water-based) makes the vitamins sink to the bottom, undissolved.
Vitamin C (Aromantics powder) can be added to all products except purely oil blends. As Vitamin C is watersoluble its always good to mix it with a little water first before adding it to a cream, lotion or gel. The colour
then turns naturally towards yellow of the Vitamin C blend.

What about adding water-soluble products and tinctures to Balms, Lip

Balms and Ointments?
Generally you can say that these predominantly fat-based products can hold up to 5% water-soluble ingredients
in a formula/product that becomes very thick once it has cooled down, such as balms an ointments. Without the
water-soluble ingredients sweating out. Above 5% you will easily find water droplets on the surface of your
balms and ointments after a few weeks, if not before, and they will start to turn mouldy and filled with bacteria
- so avoid adding too high a percentage of water-soluble ingredients to these products.

How do I know if a raw material

contains water or glycerine?
Look at the INCI ingredients listing
of the raw material/product for:
Aqua, Aloe or Glycerine.

Spotlight on...
KOLBJORN WRITES ABOUT OUR NEW
VEGETABLE OILS!

Watermelon Seed Oil (N)

INCI: Citrullus vulgaris.

What is it?
Origin: USA/Egypt. Cold pressed oil from the seeds. Watermelon oil or
watermelon seed oil is also known as Ootonga oil or Kalahari Oil. Africa is
believed to be place of origin of watermelon; historians trace its origin to the
Kalahari desert in Africa, hence its synonym, Kalahari Oil. Watermelon seeds
contain 22% oil, which is thin, dry, runny and soft and smooth and a clear
golden yellow with a slightly nutty flavour, reminiscent of sunflower oil. It is a
dry oil containing a high level of linoleic acid (an omega 6 essential fatty acid). It
spreads easily and is absorbed relatively quickly by the skin.

Shelf Life
Watermelon Seed Oil keeps for 1.5-2 years. Please see product label for actual best before date.

Skin Care
Watermelon Seed Oil is light, non-greasy and melts easily into the skin. It is suitable for all skin types,

including dry, oily, acne-prone and maturing skin. Watermelon Seed Oil provides nourishing moisture
without clogging the pores, which makes it an excellent choice for balancing the skin. The array of potent
vitamins and minerals contained in the oil feed the skin and help it to flourish.
These watermelons are grown all over the world but one quality that is know about its growing
conditions is its resiliency in withstanding drought. This quality makes it a good emollient, that softens
and soothes the skin, which of course is important in all skin care products for sensitive skin, such as baby
products, acne-prone skin and sensitive skin types.
I recommend the use of Watermelon Seed Oil in all kinds of skin care products due to the high content
(up to 65%) of linoleic acid, an omega 6 essential fatty acid. It can be used for all skin types, even oily skin
as it is a dry oil. Watermelon Seed Oil also has excellent pore size reduction qualities, so is good to use on
large-pored skin.
It is said that Watermelon Seed Oil eliminates sebum, the dirt and grease that builds up in your skin
and creates acne. A synergistic oil to use it with for this purpose is the well-known Jojoba Oil.
Moisturising and declogging is vital for combating skin degradation and aging - Watermelon Seed Oil can
play a very important part in this.
Watermelon seeds are very rich in B vitamins, especially niacin (up to 19% of daily value, which is
essential for skin health), folic acid, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid and also

Hair Care

Because of its light texture, it works well as a moisturiser for hair. It

is also used to detangle curls.

In the Kitchen

Watermelon Seed Oil could be used for making salad dressings and
mayonnaise or sprinkled onto salads - because of its high omega 6
content it is too fragile to be heated.
Watermelon seeds are used in traditional cooking in India, where the
seeds are never thrown away. Ground seeds are used to thicken
soups and seeds are also widely roasted and eaten.

Cucumber Seed Oil
INCI: Cucumis sativus

What is it?
Origin: Chile. Cold pressed from the cleaned and dried seeds of cucumbers. It
is then carefully filtered to obtain a brilliant, clear yellow oil with a mild, fresh
cucumber aroma. The process creates a dry, smooth, soft and delicate oil that
can be added to any products for sensitive skin types or conditions. Cucumber
seeds contain 41-56% oil, which is thin, dry, runny and light yellow, reminiscent
of sunflower oil.

Shelf Life
1.5-2 years (see label for actual best before date).

Skin Care

It is a dry, soft and smooth oil containing a high level of linoleic acid
(an omega 6 essential fatty acid) - 60-69% - and 9-16% oleic acid (an omega 9 fatty acid), making it an
excellent choice for use in moisturising formulations for the skin and hair care.

A high content of natural tocopherols and phytosterols further enhance its protective and nutritive
benefits for personal care. Cucumber Seed Oil spreads easily and is absorbed relatively quickly by the
skin.

Cucumber Seed Oil possesses a remarkable amount of phytosterols making it a noteworthy ingredient
in personal care formulations. Studies indicate that phytosterols help the skin strengthen its lipid
barrier, restoring proper moisture balance, smoothing the skins surface and improving skin elasticity.
Phytosterols are also known for their ability to nourish and stimulate the skin cells to encourage
regeneration of healthy skin cells.

Thinking of finely cut cucumber slices on the skin, we can feel its cooling, soothing and pore-tightening
activities. We can extend this knowledge to even the oil that is pressed from the cucumber's seeds.
Just as a cucumber product such as sliced cucumber as a poultice around the eyes would calm and
soothe, so would the oil at a lipid level. As the oil is fine, soft and smooth it could go into any skin care
products for sensitive skin or around the eyes.

The oil is absorbed quickly by the skin and it spreads well without leaving a sticky skin feeling.

As Cucumber Seed Oil contains a significant percentage of oleic acid and linoleic acid it can be effective
in treating dry and any sensitive skin type, eczema-prone, psoriasis-prone, acne-prone and sunburned
skin. It is a good choice for inclusion in formulations for revitalising maturing skin and in eye care
products. Due to its high quantity of Omega 6 (linoleic acid), it is an essential fatty acid and a good

booster for the skin and body.

Furthermore, it has a high tocopherol and tocotrienol content, which indicates that cucumber seed oil
would be effective in defending skin cells from free-radical damage.

I recommend the use of Cucumber Seed Oil in all kinds of skin care products due to the high content (up
to 69%) of linoleic acid, an omega 6 essential fatty acid.
It can be used for all skin types, even oily skin as it is a dry oil.
Cucumber Seed Oil also has excellent pore size reduction qualities, so is good to use on large-pored skin.
Adding Cucumber Seed Oil to creams and lotions will make them lighter and drier.

Hair Care

It is a light, making it ideal for moisturising hair.

In the Kitchen

I have not found any use for Cucumber Seed Oil but as it is fragile it is best not used for cooking, but is
perfect for making salad dressings and mayonnaise or sprinkling on cucumber salad.

Did you know?

Sales of beauty balm or blemish balm products, which are also known as BB creams, have grown significantly in the
past several months, according to a new report from market researcher NPD Group. And its no wonder, as the creams
blend together the benefits of several beauty products all in one a plus for time-pressed women. Most combine the
functionality of primers, sunscreen and moisturisers, along with the anti-aging benefits of skin serums. About 8 in 10
beauty shoppers like products that offer multiple benefits, according to NPDs research, and the response is even higher
for those who have already purchased BB creams, with nine out of 10 saying they like multi-functional products. 11th May

You know about climate change summits, well the good news is, the beauty industry has a something similar: Sustainable
Cosmetics Summit: Changing the face of the beauty industry by sustainable development organised by Organic Monitor.
According to their website, the 7th edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit drew to a successful close on 19th May in
New York City. The 2012 North American edition brought together over 180 executives from the cosmetics industry to discuss key sustainability issues. Major topics on the summit agenda were Marketing & Distribution Innovations, Green Formulations and Sustainable Packaging. The summit highlighted the need to accurately measure environmental impacts and
increase adoption rates of sustainable packaging. Further summits will beheld this year in Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Paris.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Refined (N)
INCI: Opuntia ficus indica

What is it?
Origin: Morocco. Refined, from seeds. Prickly pear is a genus
consisting of about 200 species of cactus. Prickly pears are the
fruits of this resistant cactus that are native to Mexico and South
America, but that are grown in many areas of the world, including
South Africa, Australia, United States of America, Tunisia and it
also grows in the desert in southern Morocco, which is where our
oil is sourced from. Growing in the wind of the Atlas mountains,
the prickly pear has become resistant to dry, harsh environments.
The Berber women have for centuries used this oil as a secret
beauty regime. In the dry, hot and windy conditions of the prickly
pear habitat in Morocco, it is easy for anyone's skin to be affected by premature aging but remarkably Berber
women can maintain soft and elastic skin thanks partly to Prickly Pear Seed Oil and Argan Oil. Just recently this
secret has been revealed to the French cosmetic industry but the prices are still just about affordable. I
remember, 4-5 years ago being approached by someone who was offering it at 1000 per kilogram. As seeds
contain less than 5% oil, it takes a remarkable 10, 000 seeds to produce 1 litre of oil. The harvesting of the fruit,
which is done by local villagers in Morocco, takes place between June and September. Seeds are dried in the sun
after being taken from the fruit - after they are dried, the oil is extracted.
Strangely, the westernised lifestyle - long daily computer contact (very drying for the skin); dry heat inside
houses and a lot of windy conditions outside (at least here in Scotland!) creates the need for a remarkable oil
such as Prickly Pear Seed Oil as by its very nature from the sunny, windy Atlas mountains helps to combat skin
aging caused by the sun and wind. As thorns guard the rose, so do the threatening spines serve to protect the
secret wealth of the prickly pear.

Shelf Life
Prickly Pear Seed Oil keeps for 1.5-2 years (please see label for actual best before date).

Skin, Hair & Nail Care

The surface of the skin has an invisible layer, which acts as a barrier to stop moisture from escaping. In a
very dry climate, this lipid layer is unable to cope and too much moisture can be drawn out of the skin.
This can be made worse by daily bathing and the astringent effects of soap and water. Prickly Pear Seed
Oil lends itself well to combat dry skin, improving hydration as it works as both an emollient and an
occlusive (helps to stop Trans-Epidermal Water Loss) and in so doing, helps to slow down the destruction
of the connective tissue and in turn prevent wrinkling.
Regular use of this oil, along with other vegetable oils and raw materials can help to keep the skin elastic,
smooth and firm and also give the skin a natural luminescence.
Prickly pear seeds and oil contain considerable nutritional value, according to a study published in the
March 2011 issue of the "International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition." Prickly pear seeds are a

good source of several minerals, including calcium, with 470 mg per kg, potassium, with 533 mg/kg,
magnesium with 117 mg/kg and phosphorus with 1,627 mg/kg. The fatty acids in prickly pear seed include
a high content (up to 61%) linoleic acid (Omega 6) - an essential fatty acid, which soothes and refreshes
the skin - and up to 25% oleic acid (Omega 9). It is very rich in Tocopherol, or Vitamin E, and sterols
(approximately 10g per kg), which gives it a special ability to protect skin against free radicals as Vitamin E
is an antioxidant.
It is light, stable and versatile oil, which spreads and absorbs easily and quickly into the skin and improves
skin elasticity. It is a powerful moisturiser and leaves the skin feeling velvety soft.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil is thin, dry, runny and clear light yellow, reminiscent of thistle oil, but fattier.
I recommend the use of Prickly Pear Seed Oil in all kinds of skin care products due to the high content (up
to 65%) of linoleic acid, an omega 6 essential fatty acid. It can be used for all skin types, even oily skin as it
is a dry oil. It also has excellent pore size reduction qualities, so is good to use on large-pored skin.
Adding Prickly Pear Seed Oil to creams and lotions will make them lighter and drier.
All these factors make Prickly Pear seed Oil an excellent choice for mature, aging or damaged skin. Prickly
Pear Seed Oil can also be used to moisturise dry and damaged hair and to restore the health of nails and
cuticles.

Hair Care

In hair care products it is used to moisturise dry and damaged hair.

In the Kitchen

Due to its high content of Omega 6 fatty acid, Prickly Pear Seed Oil is best not used for cooking but it can
be used for making salad dressings and mayonnaise.

What happens with an Aromantic Natural Products

Consultancy?
By Mike Harmon
I wanted to go though what happens when you decide to have a consultancy with
Aromantic. The first thing is we try to talk you out of it!
Many times, people opt for a consultancy because they think it is the only way to
get a product produced. We can suggest which of our courses may be more
appropriate for you so that you get to learn for yourself and create your own products.
Sometimes though, people just dont have time or prefer to have us do the formulation work for them so if that
is the case, we then start to ask lots of questions like who is your ideal customer? Does your customer think 30
is cheap for a pot of face cream or really expensive? Do you want to product to appear fun or cutting edge or
olde English herbal? All these questions give us vital information the know how to formulate the right products
for what you want and we do our best to get it right first time. We will also be very honest about what we cant
do for you. We may have a few tweaks to do afterwards with regard to which essential oils are used but not
often. When we believe we have all we need and are ready to go ahead, we ask you to pay a 50% deposit with
the balance to be paid upon completion.
So what are the charges? We will develop 6 products for you which may have some variables. For example, this
may be a foot cream with the variables being 2 different versions of essential oil blends so you have 2 products.
All the formulation work is done on paper and you get the work on Excel spreadsheets so you can easily see
how making some minor changes affects the final selling price of the product. This service costs 1200.
If you want samples made up of the products then the same applies but the cost is 1500. The more
information we get from you in the first place about what the product needs to be like, the less likely you will
want to see a sample.
This is the point where a huge reality check kicks in for many people. Getting a product to market can be a long

33

Consultancy Feature cont.

winded affair and we have set up a system that will make it so much easier.
To give you an idea of what happens in the commercial world, a single product like a foot cream can cost 1,000
for the formulation, another 800 for the testings and take 9 months to get to market. We have not only shaved
the costs of that HUGELY but we can be a bit quicker as well. However, you really should understand that having
a consultancy does not mean you can sell the products next week!
The formulations that you have paid for are now yours and you own them. Most companies do not allow that
and they only licence them to you for as long as they manufacture them for you. We feel that is wrong so we
say they are yours to do as you wish with them.
You do however, need to have someone sign off your formulations for safety assessment. We are proud to have
Scott Grainger on board to do this service independently of Aromantic at an amazingly low price (see Scotts
article in this newsletter).
Hopefully, this has made things clearer for you. Always, we will encourage you to attend the courses and
increase your knowledge so that you can formulate for yourself. If you want us to do it for you however, please
contact mike@aromantic.co.uk

Helping our customers to comply with new EU
cosmetic legislation from July 2013
By Kolbjorn Borseth
I am very excited to announce that Aromantic has teamed up with Scott Grainger of
Cosmetic Safety Consultants Ltd to create a package for our customers that provides:
convenient safety assessments, challenge testing and stability testing that will comply with
new EU 2013 cosmetic regulations. In addition, we are in co-operation with Scott to
challenge test approximately 30-40 products from different categories based on popular
Aromantic recipes and methods e.g. our Base products, recipes taught on courses, in our
books, etc, which means that if you follow these guidelines for our recipes and methods for
making them, you will not need to challenge test similar products yourself. As an example,
we will challenge test Aromantics Active Cream 1, which contains herbal infusions/
decoctions. As infused/decocted herbs are the most challenging raw materials added to
products, by qualifying these through a challenge test it can be used as a benchmark/
guideline for many other creams that you make using Aromantic raw materials. So then, you wouldnt have to
challenge test similar products yourself, even if you use different vegetable oils and other known materials
within a safe dosage range set out by Scott Grainger - these types of safety assessment packages are already
provided by him. I will provide more information about this in the Autumn. In the meantime, I hand over to
Scott Grainger to introduce himself and Cosmetic Safety Consultants Ltd.

Introducing Cosmetic Safety Consultants Ltd

By Scott Grainger
Kolbjorn has been working hard behind the scenes with me at Cosmetic Safety Consultants Ltd. to provide a
new service to students and customers of Aromantic we aim to provide a cosmetic safety assessment service
that will cover most, if not all of the recipes taught by Aromantic and featured in Kolbjorns publications in a
flexible and cost effective way.
We are very excited to bring to you this new service and over the coming weeks we aim to introduce a series of
very affordable packages that will meet both current and future legal requirements.

Some key features of the new Aromantic Safety Assessments

Affordability Aromantic are not receiving any financial compensation for referring students and customers to CSC ltd
for the provision of safety assessments instead, Kolbjorn has specifically requested that any potential referral fees
should instead be used to discount assessment fees. This means that the likely one-off costs for assessment packages will
range from 49 for a basic range of products (e.g. lip balms, body butters) to a maximum of 299 for a complete range of
assessments to cover a large range of products such as emulsions and gels, oil based products, shower and bathing
products, etc.

Flexibility the packages will be designed to cover many different product variations where possible.
Kolbjorns clarification: the big package will include dosage guidelines of all of Aromantics raw materials, so if you stick to
the guidelines for the different raw materials mentioned in the package, you can create whatever you want, with the
exception of infant products, which need special considerations.

Durability all packages will be designed with current and future regulations in
mind so that customers can continue to produce their ranges of products without
major upheaval or financial penalty please refer to our Post 2013 information

section below.

Accessibility The support team at CSC ltd are dedicated to helping with all issues associated with making and selling
cosmetics. Joanne and Rachael deal with typical issues such as e.g. compiling client details and ingredients/formulations,
labelling questions, PIF production. Scott is always on hand to deal with complex or technical questions & we have an
open question policy on our Facebook page where anyone can post and ask questions, even if theyre not our clients.

Timescale
We aim to introduce the first series of packages over the coming weeks certainly in time for Autumn and the
busy Christmas period.

Some information about the new regulations due in July 2013

Q. Should I be worried about the changes in 2013?
The short answer for our clients, is NO. Please read the Q&As we have listed below - if you have any further questions,
please just contact us.
Q. What will the changes mean for small scale producers?
Small scale producers have always had to comply with the cosmetics regulations in the same way as the major
manufacturers - this remains the same after July 2013 and we will be supporting our clients then in the same way that we
do now - explaining everything and making the whole process as simple as possible. The format of the safety assessment
will change, but this is something that our clients don't need to worry about - we are fully aware of all new requirements
and are working on their behalf already to meet the future rules.
Q. Will it become more expensive, complicated or difficult for small scale producers?
In fact, it will be more complicated and expensive for large scale producers, because usually their products are much more
complex and will require significantly more input from the safety assessor. The amount of information required on the
new reports is directly inline with the number of ingredients. Small scale producers generally make products with much
fewer ingredients, so the work that the assessor needs to do will be much less than working with industrial formulations.
Q. What about flexible assessments?
For all of our clients who buy assessments online directly from the site (and our new Aromantic package customers) we
will be supplying top-up paperwork free of charge before the new rules come into force. This paperwork will be in the
form of Reference Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR). Because of the way we decided to write our assessments from
the very beginning, we are able to provide this for our clients and rather than seeing this as an opportunity to generate
more income, we made the decision to do this free of charge.
Q. What is a Reference CPSR?
This is a document that you keep for your records in the same way that you do with your current assessments. It includes
all of the information required by the new rules and will cover all ingredients (and combinations) included as standard in
the Aromantic flexible assessments. These will meet the legal requirements that Trading Standards in the UK expect from
small scale producers absolutely no question. If a single product specific safety report is ever required (for example, if
you have the opportunity to sell one or more of your products through a high street chain, or Department store and they
would prefer this format) you would just email us your specific recipe - we then simply compile your report using the
reference data we have on file for you and email it to you directly there may be a very small admin fee for this (around
25), but you would generally only request this service in relation to a formulation or product that was clearly successful
and financially viable.

About Scott Grainger

Scott has been working as a Chartered Chemist and Cosmetic Product Safety Assessor for many years. He has a special
interest in natural skin care formulation, which started after visiting craft fairs in the early 1990s - he was inspired by
the variety and quality of products available - so much so that he started and ran his own successful natural cosmetics
business for several years before returning to the "lab" to concentrate on the scientific aspects of the business.
Scott now devotes his time to natural ingredient research and writing safety assessments, but he is still a keen natural
formulator and avid soapmaker - he donates much of his free time to supporting craft and small scale producers via
internet forums and Facebook - we believe he is one of the only assessors who has actually run a natural cosmetics
business and continues to actively make natural products - we think this gives him a unique understanding of what
craft and small scale producers really need.

Scott's professional profile is as follows

Jacqui James on Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009

Jacqui James has a long association with Aromantic. She deals with technical queries from
our customers, is the team leader for our compliance with OF&G Organic certification and
she is the course leader of our popular course Complying with Legal Requirements.
Since the original Directive was introduced back in 1976 there have been numerous
amendments which have made it overly complex and hard to follow so the new Cosmetic
Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 has been introduced with the intention of streamlining and
modernising the legislation. This regulation will come fully into force from July 2013. Its
fair to say the new Regulation has been causing a lot of concern, particularly for small scale
producers, who are afraid they will not be able to comply with the regulations and will be unable to continue to
produce their products. Note: This does not affect therapists producing for and selling to their clients.
A large part of that concern can now be allayed by the new packages on offer from Cosmetic Safety Consultants
Ltd. Producers of natural skin care products will also need to be aware of other ways that they need to comply
with legislation - Aromantics Complying with Legal Requirements Course helps to simplify what you need to
know and what you need to do in order to legally make and sell your products in Europe from today and beyond
July 2013. http://www.aromantic.co.uk/courses-making-natural-skin-care-cosmetic-products-uk.htm

INCI: Glycerine*, Prunus amygdalus dulcis*, Citrus aurantium dulcis fruit
water*, Sucrose Laurate. *Organically produced ingredients.
Made with 94% organic ingredients. Approved by the Soil Association
We previously stocked Sucragel AOF Bio (Organic) as Cold Emulsifier (Organic)
but now as the supplier is so impressed with the work Mike Harmon has done
with them to develop the scope of its use, the supplier has made Aromantic an
exclusive UK distributor for quantities under 5kg (6 litres). Mike's testing and
formulating with Sucragel AOF Bio has led to creating a Masterclass on the use of
the product. It's a very exciting product with which you can make up to 100%
organic products! You can use Sucragel AOF Bio (Organic) in creams, lotions, cleansers, bath oils, and scrubs and
no heating needed! It is a very versatile emulsifier - no other product we know of thickens oils the way it does
and you can make a wide range of products with it, from sprayable milks to the thickest body butters!
Sucragel AOF Bio (Organic) is a 100% natural, preservative-free, oil-thickening and emulsifying ingredient based
on sugar chemistry. The emulsifier and oil-thickener is composed of oil, water, glycerine and Sucrose Laurate. It
is a hazy, pale yellow liquid gel produced in the United Kingdom. Produced in the United Kingdom so it has a low
carbon footprint.

Recipe Corner
Bamboo Exfoliant
Face Gel
Makes 100ml. (No heating in saucepan on double boiler required for
this recipe.)

Method for making the Bamboo Exfoliant Gel

Stage 1: (40-50C)

1.

80ml Spring Water

1.2g Xanthan Gum
2.
3.

Stage 2: (40-35C)
10g Aloe Vera Concentrate
1g Preservative Eco
4g Papaya Glycerine Extract
0.5g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
Stage 3: (under 35C)

4.

10-12 drops Essential Oils

Stage 4: (under 35C)

5.

Weigh first in dry beaker and then

stir in:
2-4g Bamboo Exfoliant

6.
7.

Stage 1: Measure the water in the measuring cylinder and

pour into a bowl. By using half boiling water and half cold
water you get your gel at approx. 40-50C.
Weigh the Xanthan Gum Powder accurately in a dry beaker.
Sprinkle the Xanthan Gum Powder over the water little by
little, while whisking vigorously. If there are too many lumps,
pour out the whole mixture and start again with a new
batch. The most likely reason for the lumpiness is that youve
added the Gum Powder too fast to the water without proper
whisking. If your Gel gets lumpy, blend until smooth with an
electric blender.
When there are no more lumps, stop whisking or blending. If
you whisk too much the gel becomes more opaque.
Stage 2: Add the pre-weighed Aloe Vera Concentrate and
other raw materials and mix well into the Gel.
Stage 3: When under 35C add your chosen essential oil/s.
Stage 4: Weigh the Bamboo Exfoliant in a dry beaker and
then stir them gently but thoroughly into the Gel. Pour into
jars and label.

Using the Bamboo Exfoliant Face Gel: Massage gently into the skin
on the face and wash off with a damp sponge or facecloth. Follow
with Skin Toner and Moisturiser.
