HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL

Your purchase of a VGF Series engine was a wise

investment. In the industrial engine field the name,
Waukesha Engine, stands for quality and durability.
With normal care and maintenance this engine will
provide many years of reliable service.
Before placing the engine in service read Chapters 1
and 2 very carefully. These chapters cover Safety,
General Information and Engine Operation.
Section 1.00 Warning Tags And Decal Locations
provides the location of all warning tags and decals.
Each tag is illustrated in case the decals or tags are
lost or damaged.
Section 1.05 Safety provides a list of warnings and
cautions to make you aware of the dangers present
during operation and maintenance of the engine. READ THEM CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW THEM
COMPLETELY.
Section 1.15 General Information provides basic
data on the VGF engine such as; name plate data,
component weights, torque specifications and clearances. This section also supplies torque values of
metric and standard capscrews as well as conversion
data.
Chapter 2 Engine Systems provides prestart
inspection, troubleshooting, routine startup and shutdown information.

chapters within the manual and each chapter contains
one or more sections. The title of each chapter or section appears at the top of each page. To locate information on a specific topic, refer to the Table of
Contents at the front of the manual or the Index at the
back of the manual.

are the latest information available at the time of this
printing and are subject to change without notice.
Since engine accessories may vary due to customer
specifications, consult your local distributor or Waukesha Engine Field Service Department for any information on subjects beyond the scope of this manual.
