VisarequirementsforStudyinginSweden

Ingeneral,allstudentsfromcountriesoutsideoftheEU/EEAneedtohave
aresidencepermittostudyinSwedeniftheyareplanningonstayingfor
morethanthreemonths.Studentsshouldnotapplyforavisa(whichis
genereallyonlyforshortervisitsinthecountry),butforaresidencepermit
forstudies.
YouneedtoapplyforandrecieveyourpermitbeforeyoutraveltoSweden.

ScholarshipInformation

LUMESorLundUniversitycannotsupportyourstayfinancially.However
therearealimitednumberofscholarshipsformastersstudentsinSweden.
LundUniversityGlobalScholarship

TheLundGlobalScholarshipprogrammeistargetedattopacademicstudents
whoarecitizensofcountriesfromoutsidetheEuropeanUnion/European
EconomicArea(andSwitzerland).Thescholarshipisselectiveand
completelymeritbased.Scholarshipmaycover25%,50%,75%or100%of
thetuitionfee.TheLundUniversityGlobalScholarshipdoesnotcoverliving
costs.
Whenandhowtoapply:ToapplyforaLundUniversityGlobal
Scholarship,youmustfirstapplytoLUMES,usingtheonline,national
website,www.universityadmissions.se,duringtheapplicationperiod
(October16,2015January15,2016).Onceyouhavemadeacomplete
applicationandpaidtheapplicationfee,youwillreceiveinformationabout
howtoapplyforthescholarship.Forautumn2016studies,thiswillbe
communicatedtoapplicantsaftertheapplicationperiodisover,i.e.inearly
February.
Aspartofthisonlineapplication,youneedtouploadyourscholarship
'motivationletter'.Pleasenotethatthescholarship'motivationletter'is
differentfromtheStatementofPurposethatyouareaskedtosubmitaspart
ofyourapplicationtoLUMES.Youscholarshippersonal'motivationletter'
shouldexplainwhyyouracademicperformanceandreasonsforapplyingto
LundUniversitymakeyouanappropriaterecipientforaLundUniversity
GlobalScholarship.
Theselectionprocessforscholarshipsisundertakeninparallelwiththe
programmeselectionprocess.Priorityisgiventostudentswithhighacademic
performance,whoareassessedasagoodfitforLUMESandwho
demonstrateastrongcommitmentanddesiretostudyatLundUniversity.
Asthescholarshipismeritbasedonly,noconsiderationistakenofthe
