Praying for Vocations

Praying for vocations is so
important in todays world. A
vocation is a gift. Our prayers give
those being called to the priesthood
or religious life the courage and
strength to say yes!
The harvest is abundant but the
laborers are few; so ask the master
of the harvest to send out laborers
for his harvest. (Luke 10:2)
Please come and pray for vocations
the 1st Wednesday of the month,
November 2, 2016, 8 am to 7pm in
the Brides Room Benediction and
Exposition
of
the
\Blessed
Sacrament begins @ 6pm. There is
reading material for prayer in the
Chapel. Please stop by and ask God
to help someone who is discerning,
His call is all that is needed.

The holidays for most of us are times

of family gatherings, laughter,
sampling holiday treats and sharing
loving family memories. For others
it's a challenging time as we are
reliving histories of loved ones lost
through death, divorce and/or
separation. St. John Neumann
Catholic Church (Family Life
Committee) will once again sponsor
the Grieving for the Holidays
Workshop. The workshop focus will
provide participants an opportunity to
learn how to grieve, through effective
coping strategies that include
memorializing
loved
ones,
reevaluating attitudes about death and
loss, effective mourning, and finding
hope so that the holidays are once
again a JOYFUL time of the season
even for those individual's that have
suffered a recent or past loss.
Date: Satur day, November 12,
2016,
Time: 800 AM to 12:00 PM, in the
Scott Room

Next week our parish will take up the

Collection for the Archdiocese for the
Military Service, USA(AMS). The AMS relies
solely on private donors in support of its
mission, Serving those who serve and its
ministry to provide the same pastoral care
and services to Catholics serving in the
United States and Armed Forces, enrolled in
U.S. Military Academies, undergoing
treatment at any of the 153 Department of
Veterans Affairs; Medical Centers, working
in civilian jobs for the federal government
beyond U.S. borders, and the families of
these populations, as does any other
Catholic diocese. While salaries and
retirement of Catholic military chaplains re
paid fro by th U.S. Government, the AMS
receives no funding form government or
the military for its programs and services
including the Co-Sponsored Seminarian
Program, which provides priests for home
dioceses and for the military chaplaincy. To

A pastoral presence means walking with the

People of God, walking in front of them, showing
them the way, showing them the path; walking in
their midst, to strengthen them in unity; walking
behind them, to make sure no one gets left behind,
but especially, never to lose the scent of the
People of God in order to find new roads.
Pope Francis, The Church of Mercy
If you wish to offer a Mass intention for a
deceased loved one, there are All Souls
Day offering envelopes available at the
entrance of the church. You may write
their names on the envelope with a free
will offering and either return it to the
church office or place it in the collection
basket during the month of November. These envelopes will be
placed on the main altar of the church during the whole month
as a special remembrance of our deceased loved ones during
the celebration of the Mass.
