Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will introduce
the SRS activity:
Students will watch two BrainPop Jr. videos on plants. The first video will be the different parts of a plant
and the second video will be identifying the basic needs of a plant. They will have a worksheet to complete
while watching the two videos to help them understand the content.
Once the video is over and finish their worksheets, students will take a short quiz on Socrative to see if they
remember what they watched and to see if they were paying attention to the video. I could make this a
participation grade if they do not do well on the quiz.

Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students:

What do plants need to survive? (Choose all that apply)
A seed grows into a flower or plant. (True or False)
What part of a tree is the trunk? (Multiple choice)
A carrot is a seed. (True or False)
What does foliage mean? (Multiple choice)
Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)

Yes

No

Immediate corrective feedback:

Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all the questions and display correct response to the class after
the SRS activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? I said yes because I want the students to see what they got wrong on the quiz. This will
help them to remember the lesson.
Use of data:
The data will be collected to see if students understand the material that is being taught. The data will be used
by the teacher to see if he/she needs to reteach the lesson or spend more time teaching the lesson. I could
share the data with parents/guardians to help me show them that their child needs to study or if they need a
little extra help with the subject. I can show students as a class their average to let them know how they did as
a class but I will not show their names on the reports page. This will give the students an idea on how they
did as a class. The quiz will have both hard and easy questions and it will tell me if I need to differentiate my
instruction for certain students and it will also let me know if I need to have two different tests for those
students that had trouble with the quiz.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity:
Students will draw the different parts of a plant and provide the basic needs of plants. This will help students
to remember what they have learned. Repetition will help students to remember a lesson. This will also help
them on the test if they do different activities over and over.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I tried to come up with some questions that would be easy and hard for the students to let me know if they are
getting the content that is being taught. I learned that students that take quizzes using SRSs tend to lose their
focus after about 10 minutes. I hope this will help students learn the content of the lesson and keep them on
track for learning the content. It makes learning fun for the students.
