Mels Home for Peculiar Families

Mel was a 15 year old girl who lived a not so average life at home with her
adoptive parents and 5 other siblings. Because of who her dad was, Mel and her other
siblings lived a lavish life in a mansion in Beverly Hills. Her father, Brad Stanley, was a
very famous actor that has starred in various action movies. However, no one knows
that the famous Brad Stanley has a house full of 6 exotic children. No one suspects a
thing.
Because Brad is so famous, he doesnt want his weird children to ruin his image.
So, he pays people to help him keep his children hidden. Of the 5 children, Mel is the
oldest. The weird thing about Mel is that her eyes are extremely small. Because of this,
it allows her to have a microscopic view of everything she sees. She can see the
smallest details of anything. This is why her siblings gave her the moniker of Mini Face
Mel. The next sibling is a 13 year old boy named Sam. His peculiarity is shape shifting.
Whenever he wants to manipulate others to get what he wants, he can change forms
into anything he wants. Jas is the middle child of age 11. Her peculiarity is supersonic
speed. Whenever shes in a hurry to do anything, she can move so quick, that you dont
even see it happen. Thats why her siblings like to call her Jammin Jas. The last two,
are a set of twin girls at the age of 10. Their names are Dani and Pam. Danis peculiarity
is hypnosis and Pams is that when shes afraid, she sings the national anthem and she
cant control it. When Brad discovered all of the children, he admired their weird
abilities, but now that he has all of the fame and fortune, hes become ashamed of
them.
Since Mel is the oldest of the children, she is almost always in charge of taking
care of the others. Unless theres a hired nanny around, then Mel gets to catch a break.
However, there is no nanny today, so she had to refrain from getting too crazy with
them. Hey Mini Face, can you take us to go to the mall in a little bit? Sam asked. No,

Sam, you know I cant do that. You know dad doesnt want us to be seen in public. Mel
replied. And? Sam questioned, Its not like anyone will even know who we are. Mel
rolled her eyes and walked away from Sam. She hated having these conversations with
her younger siblings because she wanted to do everything she could in order to make
them believe that they were like normal people. Just give it up, Sam. said Jas. You
ask to go places all the time and you always get the same answer. Dads ashamed of
us remember? We arent allowed to be seen in public because he doesnt want to be
questioned. Sam sighed loudly and stomped to his room to go and play his video
games. Mel decided to go to her room too, and she thought about how much she hated
that this was the way things had to be. But sadly, there was nothing that she could do
about it.
While Sam was up in his room playing video games, a crazy thought popped into
his head, What if I went out in public anyways, and no one recognized me? Whats the
worst that could happen? After this thought, he called all of his siblings into his room,
excluding Mel. What do you want Sam? Dani questioned. I have a plan you guys.
Sam replied. Were going on an expedition. All of the kids looked at each other, then
back at Sam as if he was psycho. Were gonna what? Whats an expedition? Pam
asked. Sam sighed. He really just wanted to do it on his own but he knew that the
others would be mad if he didnt include them. Were gonna go to the mall. Who cares
what other people think of us and who cares what dad says. All of the children seemed
very unsure, but deep down, they all knew that they wanted to go. But what about
Mel? Pam asked. Sam was dreading this question. He knew that if Mel knew about it,
she would do everything she could to convince everyone else not to go. Yeah, Im
working on that guys. Ill let you guys know the rest of the plan when I can. You guys
can continue doing what youre doing. Sam replied. As the other siblings left, Sam
stayed behind to think of a plan to get out of the house without being stopped by Mel.
After thinking things over in her room, Mel decided to go talk to Sam. When she
walked into his room she saw that he was sitting on his bed, deep in thought. So I
thought about what you said, and how you wanted to go out in public. Before, I thought

it was a really, really bad idea. But after I thought it over for a while, I decided that it
might be good for the other kids to be able to go out every once in awhile. Mel said.
Sam looked at her in disbelief. He was so happy that he didnt have to come up with a
new plan to sneak around her. So rally up the kids, Mel replied. we have places to
go. And so the kids got dressed, called a cab, and waited on the lanai of the house to
wait for a cab to come and pick them up.
When the cab dropped them off at their destination at nearest mall, all of the
people around them gave them strange looks. Whats wrong with those kids? Why do
they look like that? Wheres their parents? Those are the thoughts that were probably
crossing all of their minds. Just act cool, and look like you belong. Lets do this. Sam
encouraged. After hearing this, Jammin Jas took off. The only children who looked
normal and could actually fit in was Sam because of his shapeshifting ability, and Dani
because there was nothing physically wrong with her. Feeling the stares of all the
people in the stores made Mini face Mel feel extremely paranoid and uncomfortable.
However, she felt obliged to do this for her siblings.
After walking around the mall for a while, Mel noticed a particularly bright flash at
the end of the walkway. Feeling intrigued, she walked towards it. Because of her
microscopic view, she didnt have to get too close to see what was happening. It was
apparent that there was someone famous in the mall, and the paparazzi had found
them. Afraid of being caught and causing attention, Mel turned to tell the children it was
time to go, but it was too late. Being the children they are, they ran towards the crowd.
As the children got near, they realized that it was their father who was drawing all of the
attention. Before anyone could try to stop her, Dani exclaimed, Hey look, its dad!
As their father turned to look at whoever it was that called his name, everyone
else stopped and turned to look at the children. Mel protectively put her arms around
her younger siblings while Dani looked to the floor because she knew she had gotten
them into trouble. One of the paparazzi turned to Dani and said, Excuse me little girl,
did you say that this man is your father? Dani looked at the others, and to her dad who
she saw was shaking his head, signaling to tell her to say no. Sam, tired of all the

secrets decided to speak up. Yes, this man, Brad Stanley, is our father. He has kept us
a secret for years because hes ashamed of us. Weve tolerated it for as long as we all
can remember, but we are tired of it and we are tired of hiding. I refuse to do it any
longer. Sam spoke. All of the children were speechless and looked to their dad to see
his reaction. After staring at the children for a moment, he finally opened his mouth, Are
you kidding me? All of you people believe these children? If I really had 5 children, Im
sure people would know by now. Dont believe a word any of these children say. Its
absolutely lurid. The children could not believe what they were hearing. They couldnt
believe that he would like and deny them all this way, it wasnt fair.
After everyone heard what Brad had to say, the crowd dispersed and the children
ran off. They were som humiliated, they disappeared and were never seen or heard of
again.
