writing a social experience. Both public and private groups can be created.

is a digital writing website for students to learn about different genres, write their own stories,
and read and review stories. Teachers can give students feedback on their writing through this
website. Write About is a good source for teachers to use to teach their students about the
different types of writing, such as expository, personal narrative, persuasive, nonfiction, etc., as
well as use it for revising and editing practice. It is free for teachers to use with up to forty
students; beyond forty, membership to Write About costs between twenty-five to forty dollars per
year for teachers, and two dollars per year for a school district.

Storybird is a website where students can read and create visual stories. The website
offers numerous different illustrations created by animators from around the world that writers
can choose from to begin writing a story with. Storybird is open to students, educators, and
families. It is a creative site where students are given the visual tools to make just about any
story they wish. It is free and offers educators a lot of ideas and information about how to use its
tools to inspire students to write. However, it gives no information about its founder or author;
thus, creating a citation and finding out whether it was credible was difficult.
