SOLAR POWER MOTORIZED JACK

SYNOPSIS
This project work titled SOLAR POWER MOTORIZED JACK has
been conceived having studied the difficulty in lifting the any type of light
vehicles.
Our survey in the regard in several automobile garages, revealed the facts
that mostly some difficult methods were adopted in lifting the vehicles for
reconditioning. Now the project has mainly concentrated on this difficulty, and
hence a suitable device has been designed. Such that the vehicle can be lifted
from the floor land without application of any impact force.
The fabrication part of it has been considered with almost case for its
simplicity and economy, such that this can be accommodated as one of the
essential tools on automobile garages.

INTRODUCTION
This device the Solar Power Motorized jack with gear arrangement for
automobile garages has been developed to later the needs of small and medium
automobile garages, who are normally man powered with very minimum of skilled
labours. In most of the garages the vehicles are lifted by using screw jack. This
needs high man power and skilled labours. In order to avoid all such
disadvantages. This, motorized Lifting jack has been designed in such a way that
it can be used to lift the vehicle very smoothly without any impact force. The
operation is made be simple that even an unskilled labour can handled, by just
demonstrating the working of the motorized Lifting jack once.

The DC motor is coupled with the Threaded shaft jack by cam mechanism.
The cam shaft moves up and down depends upon the rotation of D.C motor rotary
motion with gear arrangement is to cam mechanism. DC Motor is controlled by
the FM Transmitter and Receiver Unit. This is the remote operation. Remote
operation can performed for the Motor controlled relay operation. This is a simple
type of automation project.

Description:
In present days we need more and more power for driving an instruments.
In this project with drive the Jack mechanism by using solar cell If the solar cell
generate the power using sun light energy.
A solar cell, a form of photovoltaic cell, is a device that uses the
photoelectric effect to generate electricity from light, thus generating solar power
(energy). Most often, many cells are linked together to form a solar panel with
increased voltage and/or current.
Solar cells produce direct current (DC), which can be used directly, stored
in a battery or converted from DC to AC to directly power common household
devices or to feed into the utility grid. This DC to AC conversion is done by means
of an inverter. But this project not required the inverter, because the total unit
worked by DC voltage. So we need not inverter.
The over all unit supply voltage produced by Solar unit. DC Motor and the
dc motor is used to drive the Jack mechanism to Lifting the object. Thus the Jack
Mechanism is operates by Solar Energy.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The block diagram of Solar Power Motorized lifting jack with
Threaded Shaft arrangement is shown in fig. The Solar Panel and lead-acid battery
is used to drive the DC motor. The d.c motor shaft is connected to the Threaded
Shaft. If the power is given to the DC motor, it will run so that the Thread Shaft
also runs to the same speed of the DC motor. The Threaded shaft movement is up
and down motion due to Threaded Shaft mechanism.
The Threaded Shaft of other end is connected to the Scissor Lift. The
Scissor Lift moves up and down according to the movement of the Threaded
Shaft. So the Lift goes to upward, so that the vehicle lifts from ground.

Construction for Motorized Jack

A motorized jack for reducing the amount of labor needed to lift up a
vehicle. The motorized jack includes housing with a motor provided in the
housing. A threaded shaft is also provided in the housing. A top end of the
threaded shaft is upwardly extended through a hole in the top of the housing. A
ring gear is disposed around the threaded shaft. The ring gear has a toothed inner
perimeter engaging the threaded shafts. An interconnected set of gears is provided
in the housing to connect the ring gear to a rotating shaft of the motor. A lifting
head is coupled to the top end of the threaded shaft.

ADVANTAGES
1. The loaded light vehicles can be easily.
2. Checking and cleaning are easy, because of the main parts are
screwed.
3. Handling is easy
4. No Manual power
5. Easy to Repair.
6. Replacement of parts are easy

DISADVANTAGES
Cost of the equipment is high when compared to ordinary
hand jack.
This system requires high maintenances care when compared
to ordinary hand jack.
Care must be taken for the handling the equipment such as
proper wiring connection, oil level checkup, etc.

APPLICATIONS

1. It is very much useful in auto-garage. This motorized Lifting jack is used

for lifting the vehicles.
