Analysis of Quick Return Mechanism

 To find the quick return ratio and to

check dependency of quick return ratio
on stroke length using two different
mechanisms
a) Slotted lever mechanism
b) Whitworth mechanism

Conclusion
For

both the mechanisms quick return ratio is

equal to the ratio of angles in forward
direction to that of backward direction swept
by input link.
In slotted lever mechanism quick return ratio
decreases with decrease in stroke length.
In whitworth mechanism quick return ratio is
independent of stroke length.
