Middle Ages News Report Project

This project has two parts. The first part is a Google slides presentation. The second
part is a video news report.
Procedure:
1. Find a group of no more than 5 people.
2. As a group, sign up for one of the topics on the Google doc. The link can be
found on your Quia homepage.
3. Part I As a group, create a google slides presentation that has at seven
parts.
a. You may divide it any way you want as long as each person completes
at least one part.
b. The person doing each part will put their name on the slides for that
part.
i. Slide one- title of your presentation
ii. Who- this part may take more than one slide and it probably will.
Include a short description of the person and an image on each
slide on this part.
iii. What- briefly describe the topic of your group.
iv. When- Include a timeline of your topic. You may create the
timeline any way you want.
v. Where- include a map that tells us something useful about your
topic.
vi. Why- Describe why your topic is important.
vii. On the last slide of your presentation, embed your interview
video.
4. Part II- Your topic has an event associated with it.
a. Select a person to be your news reporter.
b. Select other people to be interviewed by your news reporter.
c. Write a short script that creates an interview about your event.
d. Use your phone or other device to video the interview.
e. Post the interview to YouTube or another hosting site of your choice
and embed it in your google slides presentation.
5. Grading:
a. Each part of your Google slides presentation is worth ten points. If it is
complete and accurate, you get the points.
b. Your interview is worth thirty points. If it is complete and accurate, you
get the points.
c. Bonus points: You can earn 10 bonus points if you dress in appropriate
costume for the video portion. The reporter would wear business attire
and the people interviewed would be dressed appropriately. (A king
would have a crown and scepter. A monk or priest would have a robe
or other symbols of authority. Etc.)
