POETRY LESSON 4: STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING
Question Answers: (for all 4 questions)
A. The poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is written by Robert Frost, a famous
American poet. The poem is about the clash between duty and pleasure. One winter evening, the poet
was passing through some woods. The whole place is covered with snow. There is no house nearby.
He stops to enjoy the beauty there. His little horse is confused. It thinks why its master stopped
suddenly. It shakes its harness bells to get his attention.
The poet hears the gentle sound of the breeze and the snow. It is becoming dark. But he does not want
to go from there. But he remembers that he has many duties. So he must go back. Though the woods
are beautiful, he cannot stay. Before he dies, he has to fulfil his duties.
