1)Toprovidethestudentsknowledgeofthebasicphysicsunderlyingdifferentappliedgeophysicalmethods
andhowthemethodsareusedforexplorationandcharacterization.
2)Toprovideanoverviewofthefieldproceduresemployedtocollectdifferenttypesofgeophysicaldata.
3)Toprovideanintroductiontothetechniquesemployedtointerpretgeophysicaldatacollectedforapplied
andengineeringpurposes.

StudentResponsibilitiesandMethodofEvaluation(Gradesassignedonacurve)
1)Biweeklyproblemsetsthatfocusonthebasicphysicsofthemethods,simpleanalyticinterpretation
techniques,andgeophysicalsurveydesignprovideexperienceinapplicationofprinciplestothetypesof
problemsencounteredbytheappliedgeophysicist.
