Visual- this name does meet my requirements, in that the name relates to music in
abstract sense, and it does begin to show the diversity and edge that indie music has to
it. I like that it is made up of just one word, without being monosyllabic, and yet it still
rolls off the tongue nicely. My only concern is that it may have more connotative links
with a more visual media format, such as television or film, and this confusion is not
something I want to cause, it must be clear that my magazine is a music magazine
Vision- I like this name a lot, it is similar to visual, in both sound and in the aesthetic
it would hold on the front cover. I feel that it is visually interesting to start with a v,
as this is not often done, and it makes for a really individual, brand new take on a
music magazine. Again, the word has a pleasant sound and number of syllables. But this
time it lacks the connotations of film or television magazines, whilst still holding the
non-linear link to a more independent, unique styling of music.
V- the idea of using a single letter as a masthead is very appealing, and v would be an
original choice. It would look interesting and thought provoking on a cover of a
magazine, but I wonder if as a single character alone, similarities will be drawn to q
magazine, which has years of credible brand identity on its side. Will my new music
magazine measure up to this?
Echo- this is a different take on my previous ideas, and looks at a different side of
words associated with music. However, I feel that I prefer the previous set of words I
have looked at for my magazine title, and that this change is not completely fitting
with my magazines genre or aesthetic, and lacks a lot of edge.
