1.0
SCOPE
This procedure includes requirements for the shipping preparation for protecting equipment and
materials during domestic shipment and export transportation to Colombia, South America as part
of the project Rio Ariari project.
The scope of this procedure is to supplement the preservation and domestic packaging procedures
to be provided by CAMERON for the dehydration equipment to be supplied.
1.1 GENERAL
CAMERON will prepare the equipment for shipment by sea from Port of Iberia to Colombia,
South America. Export Packing shall be in accordance with CAMERON standard for maritime
transportation and the following shipping requirements:

LOOSE ITEMS:
The following items will be shipped in crates inside a container per train package:
Export package is designed and constructed to withstand the hazardous of inland and ocean
transportation, below and on deck stowage, multiple handling and six (6) months storage at the
destination in open yards with all possible climatic conditions and exposure in the course. Special
considerations are to be given to ensure that:
x Breakage, damage, and theft are prevented
x Rust and corrosion are inhibited
x Water intrusion is prevented.
x Handling is facilitated

Special attention is called for valve packing in order to ensure that the integrity of the material,
internal devices, such as seats and seals, are complete protected against environmental
conditions and handling exposures like hits, fall-down, etc.
Cameron will submit a Barge Lay down (Shipping Plan).
NOTE:
1. CAMERON is not responsible for material that is damaged or lost during shipment or installation
at site.
2. CUSTOMER must use the proper certified spreader bars for vertical lifting ONLY of the
equipment (Vessel Packages, Meter Skids and Power Units).
1.2 SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Customer representative agent shall inspect the units before shipping and sign in CAMERON
Shipping Release Form.
The organization or company that is contracted to handle, ship, transport or store materials and
equipment will be responsible for the following:

Crude Meter/PCV Skid must be weighted since more structural beams have been incorporated
to the design.
Obtaining all permits, certificates or other documentation required satisfying the local, national,
and international regulatory agencies.
Assuring that all actions necessary are taken to preclude damage or loss of materials and or
equipment. Furnishing Customer with satisfactory evidence that the two above items have been
met.
Ensure that the equipment and material shall be protected to safeguard against all the
environments: humidity, moisture, rain, dirt sand, dust, salt air and salt spray.
Solely responsible for the adequacy of preparation for shipment provisions employed.
An Inspection Release Notice shall be issued before shipping.
There is not hazardous materials in the skid mounted packaged vessels. However, the power units
which are shipped loose contain mineral oils inside their tanks. These units will be marked and
stored in containers. Refer to Appendix B for Power Unit Oil MSDS.
2.0
DELIVERY DATE
For the purpose of this procedure, Customer will determine shipping delivery date and shipping
company in accordance with the latest issues and addenda in effect on date of award of contract.
Any change in delivery will be submitted in writing request.

3.1 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

In addition to the requirements designated elsewhere in this procedure, the packing and handling
for shipment and transportation materials/equipment, and any related services specified herein, will
be in accordance with the latest issues and addenda in effect for this project.

Conflicts shall be reviewed and resolved with Customer's representative prior to action by
CAMERON.
4.0
REQUIREMENTS
4.1 PROTECTION METHODS

The package units will be shipped with rust preventative covers over flange faces. Threaded
connections will be plugged. The following items will removed for shipment:

Dual Frequency power units with bushing housings and bushings.
Relief valves, valves, and instruments installed on top of the vessel
Pressure Gauges, Thermometers
Flow Elements
Other instruments, valves and special parts that could be easily damaged during shipment.
LRC II, PLC and Fuse Box Panels
Items that are removed for shipping will be tagged and packed in suitable wooden crates inside a
standard shipping container for shipment. The customer is responsible for reassembly of these
items at site.
Equipment/materials that can not be sealed off from the atmosphere shall be protected as follows:

The high voltage electrodes are shipped installed in the vessel with grid shipping braces, please
refer to Drawing # R-AH0075-1Z-ME-235-0011 (Shipping supports must be removed from the

electrodes before start up and the electrodes must be inspected and adjusted at site before start
up)
Panel views from the LRCII and PLC shall be removed from panels and saved in box with
cushion material and placed in wood crates
Control valves and other instruments shall be enclosed within a waterproof heat-sealed plastic
bag and covered by wooden boxes as shown in figure No.1.
I/Ps converter form the control and pressure valves will be shipped loose (this might get wet)
Instruments and probes shipped loose will be wrapped in a waterproof heat-sealed plastic bag
before placed in the shipping crates.
All Junction boxes will be filled with desiccant pellets.
Power unit shall require a lot of special handling. To avoid vibration and shock issues, please
see this additional packing instructions:
a. The Power unit must be bolted to the pallet.
b. The pallet MUST have shipping DONUTS / Styrofoam at least 6 x 6) support underneath
the pallet. Side and cross section.
c. The unit must be crated with an internal FRAME.
d. Chopper modules are FRAGILE. Pack accordingly.
e. ALL CRATES MUST USE SHOCK STICKERS and 3 sensitivity LEVELS. If one of
these stickers turn red (this means the crate sustained a lot of vibration / shock), items in the
crate must be carefully inspected for damage. Apply a set of Stickers inside the crate (on
the material) and outside (on the crate itself).
Packing in wood box after dusting equipment and added desiccant pellets inside the box
All crates will be shipped in a container for each train, each box identified and packing list
attached.
All openings of the Dual Frequency Power Unit will be sealed with pressure sensitive tape.
All small parts will be packed in bag with P/N to identify each component.
Panel views shall be taken off and packed very cushioned in a box.
When it is impractical to seal off equipment from the atmosphere by wrapping or boxing, the
unpainted surfaces shall be protected as follows:
External Metal Surfaces:
External non-painted surfaces, except water cooler and stainless steel tubing, including bolting
and flange faces, shall be thoroughly cleaned and given a coating of a preservative as described
in specification Z1-SGE-PME-6100 Coatings for Structures, Piping and Equipment.
Caution Shall be exercised in applying preservatives so that the items fabricated of polymers,
rubber and similar material are not coated with the preservative compound because of
damaging effect on such items.
Internal Metal Surfaces:
Internal surfaces of equipment shall be thoroughly cleaned of metal particles, dirt and debris.

4.2 EQUIPMENT
The equipment shall be tagged with the main dimensions as shown in Section 4.9 (Shipping Marks)
The equipment is used in Oil and Gas industry and its function is to treat crude oil and separate it
from associated production fluids to comply with commercial specification. CAMERON could
supply equipment brochure if required.
4.3 MATERIALS
Rust preventive materials and others as established below, shall have to be used taking into account
vendor instructions.
Material used for packaging, packing, wrapping, tapes, sealers, moisture-resistant barriers, and
corrosion prevention shall be recognized brands and grades and shall conform to the best standards
in the areas in which articles are packed and shall be capable of performing all its functions without
damage to the commodity content.
The Shipping Company shall be responsible for all delays resulting in demurrage, or claims of any
nature whatsoever occasioned by the failure of the Shipping Company to damage the protection
and the equipment and materials after received in New Iberia.
4.4 WORKMANSHIP
CAMERON will provide the labor, security, equipment and materials necessary to handle, pack, to
be maritime export shipping, equipment and materials in accordance with the requirements of this
procedure in the manufacturing plant (Ex-Works).
1. Any additional procedures, materials, labor, etc., required because of damages during
equipment pick up will be by Customer cost.
2. Flanged connections shall have to be protected with plate flanges or similar material against
shocks.
3. The installed instruments will be covered by plastic wrap and foam board. In addition wood
covers will be installed around the instrument for extra protection during shipping.
4.5 PACKING
The wood shipping boxes will ensure that the container and interior packaging are designed for
either absorb the shocks and relieve the destructive forces by means of cushioning material, or to
distribute, localize and transform these forces in such a manner that the commodity and container
will be able to withstand them without damages to the merchandise.
Minor disassembly and nesting to conserve shipping volume and prevent damages will be
followed.

Small electrical parts for power unit electrical hook up must be packed on plastic bags with P/N to
identify components.
Picture of all packing bags and boxes shall be taken for records of the parts being shipped.
4.6 REPAIRS
Repairs to packing preparation after equipment is delivered in Port of Iberia shall be permitted with
written approval from Customer.
4.7 INSPECTION
Materials/Equipment shall be checked by both Customer representative and the Shipping Company
representative for quantity and condition upon receipt from CAMERON. The shipping company
shall be solely responsible for all equipment after receipt of same in good condition.
4.8 RECORDS AND FORMS

Cameron shall submit the Power Unit Oil MSDS (CrossTrans 206 Oil), see Appendix B.
A Punch List if any.
Also pictures will be taken for all the crates, equipment, and container as delivered Ex-Work to
Customer and witness by Customers inspector in New Iberia.
4.9 SHIPPING MARKS
Each shipping unit (package) shall be marked as shown below using letters of at least 2 inches in
height. Markings shall be shown on the top and two (2) adjacent sides of each shipping
unit/package and shall be of waterproof ink or exterior grade, waterproof paint in a color which
produces high contrast with the background.

fulfilled in accordance with this procedure to issue the shipping release form.

CAMERON will provide a detailed list of loose items for each D.F Dehydrator Package and Meter
Skid. The quantities and instruments to be shipped loose will be object of revision between
Customer/Cameron after FAT is executed.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW:
Clear light to dark amber liquid. Mild hydrocarbon odor. Can burn in a fire.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS:

INHALATION: Will not produce vapors unless heated to temperatures of ~300 F.
EYE CONTACT: Irritating, but will not permanently injure eye tissue.
SKIN CONTACT: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause skin irritation.
INGESTION: Small amounts (tablespoonful) swallowed are not likely to cause injury. Larger
amounts may cause nausea and vomiting. Consult a physician promptly.
CHRONIC (CANCER) INFORMATION: IARC Monographs state that when laboratory animals
are exposed to severely hydrotreated oils, such as these product(s), there is insufficient
evidence for cancer. Thus, these oils are Unlabeled in accordance with 29 CFR 1910
.1200.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

EYE CONTACT: Flush eyes with plenty of water for several minutes. Get medical attention if
eye irritation persists.
SKIN: Wash skin with plenty of soap and water for several minutes. Get medical attention of

INGESTION: If more than several mouthfuls have been swallowed, give two glasses of water
(16 Oz.). Get medical attention.
INHALATION: If irritation, headache, nausea, or drowsiness occurs, remove to fresh air. Get

RECOMMENDED FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENTS AND SPECIAL PROCEDURES

According to NFPA Guide, use water spray, dry chemical, foam, or carbon dioxide. Water or foam may

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), one of the Occupational Safety and Health
Associations (OSHA) authorities for establishing carcinogenic potential, has specifically evaluated
Naphthenic Oils. IARC found that Mildly Hydrotreated (Hydrofinished) Naphthenic Oils are carcinogenic
to laboratory animals. IARC has NOT found Severely Hydrotreated Naphthenic Oils to be
carcinogenic. These products are classified as Severely (Not Mildly) Hydrotreated under both IARC
and OSHA definitions.
One refiner reports that a lifetime dermal application of this type oil produced skin masses on mice, which
correlated with the skin irritation response levels of individual test animals. Additional studies attribute
these masses to a weak promotional activity. These studies also showed that this product is not a mutagen,
not a tumor initiator, and not a complete chemical carcinogen. Under normal anticipated conditions of use,
this product should not present a risk to human health.

WARNING
Avoid Prolonged Breathing of Mist or Spray. Average exposure to airborne mist for an 8-hour workday
should not exceed 5.0 milligrams of mist per cubic meter of air.
Avoid Eye and Skin Contact: Wear oil-impervious protective clothing. If clothes become contaminated,
change to clean clothing after thoroughly washing exposed skin with soap and warm water.
FIRST AID
Inhalation: If overcome by fumes, remove from exposure immediately and call a physician.
Skin: Wash with warm water and soap until the exposed area is clean.
Eyes: Flush with water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. See physician if symptoms persist.
Ingestion: Do not induct vomiting. Obtain medical assistance. Small amounts that accidentally enter
through the mouth should be rinsed out until no taste of it remains.
FIRE CONTROL
Use water spray or fog, chemical foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.
SPILL / LEAK
Add absorbent (sand, sawdust, etc.) to the spill area. Contain spill. Advise State Environmental Protection
Agency, if required. Put recovered material in an appropriate container and dispose of according

STORAGE
Store in original or equivalent container. Store at the lowest practical temperature. Keep container closed
when not in use. Do not apply heat or flame to the container
