requirements:
1) Identify and assign intervals for any
number of scheduled inspection
activities. Scheduling can be based on
fixed and/or life interval calculations
from corrosion monitoring.

2) Create comprehensive written reports

to document results of both scheduled
and unscheduled inspection activities.
Reports can be written with MS Word
or Excel (for digital photo and
analytical capability), simple internal
database memos or any other file
types (BMP, PDF files, etc.). Userdefined database checklists can also
be added to provide structured,
thorough reporting of desired
inspection requirements checklists
display on activity reports and can be
further queried using the MS Report
Builder.
3) Four fixed-format text reports.
Data transfer
Direct interface to Krautkramer
DMS 2, DMS, DM4 DL, DME DL, USN
60/58/50/52, DR1 as well as many
other non-Krautkramer programmable
data loggers.
Compatible to utility programs using
UltraMATE, DATAMATE, DMSMATE or
GUS file structures.
Boiler-type TML compatibility is
available.
DMS 2 allows attached A-Scans,
B-Scans or MicroGrids to store and
display in UltraPIPE. The ease and
reliability of programming and
downloading a data logger provides
the confidence for a data logger
program.

UltraPIPE - Application features

T-min calculators
Calculate thickness requirements due
to internal pressure using code
calculations (with automatic material
stress selection). The result is
compared to the requirement for
structural thickness.
Piping T-min calculator calculates
minimum allowable wall thickness for
piping per ANSI B31.1, B32.3, B31.4,
B31.8 and B31.11.
Atmospheric storage tank T-min
calculator calculates minimum
allowable wall thickness for shells,
annular rings, roofs and floors per
API653.
Power boiler T-min calculator calculates
minimum allowable wall thickness for
seven components per ASME Section I/
PG27 and PG31.
Pressure vessel T-min calculator
calculates minimum allowable wall
thickness for 11 components (heads
and shells, etc.) per ASME Section VIII,
Div. 1/UG-27 and UG-32.
Equipment drawings interface for
AutoCAD and Microstation
Option to select AutoCAD for an
interface to AutoCAD
R12/13/14/2000/2000i/2002/2004, or
Microstation for an interface to
Microstation 95/SE/J/V8. Both have
easy-to-place drawing markers for
TMLs.
Localized corrosion on piping locations,
and valve locations that automatically
update with user-defined data. Both
also allow use of any CAD viewer or
simple CAD program.
AutoCAD option provides a
comprehensive AutoCAD symbols
library for creating inspection
drawings.

Valve testing and inspection

Addresses all critical plant valves, with
separate windows for an emphasis on
safety relief valves.
Store general engineering information,
list all associated equipment and
document test/inspection results with
API-type check sheets for SRVs.
Status after test accommodates
warehousing.
Eight fixed-format text reports.
Reporting
Fixed-format text reports:
Approximately 90 fixed-format text
reports are standard (i.e. corrosion
monitoring, valve inspection, localized
corrosion on piping, inspection activity
schedules and reports) and are
designed to meet day-to-day reporting
requirements. In addition, PVCalc
component and vessel MAWP reports,
T-min calculation reports and localized
corrosion on piping reports showing all
calculations and all data views can be
printed from the data entry screen.
MS Report Builder: Enables custom
production of any database information
within UltraPIPE. Design and save
custom reports with the built-in
reporting engine. All reports export to
MS Word or MS Excel facilitating
common formatting and e-mailing of
reports.
Report packages: Build routine report
packages for easy playback. Report
package records any sequence of fixedformat and/or inspection activity
reports for future playback. Report
criteria for save report packages allow
editing of equipment and date ranges.

Crystal reports: Launch option for

crystal reports to create user-defined
query reports using database
information.
Color graphics report: Create eight
color line and bar graphs using
corrosion monitoring database
information. Create color grid images
with easy-to-use sliders to control
breakpoints for thickness, corrosion
rate or remaining life. Image boiler wall
images using boiler-type TMLs based
on thickness, corrosion rate or
remaining life.

Advanced inspection activity reports,

recommendations and repair tracking
An unlimited number of recommendations and repairs can be attached to
any inspection activity report.
Recommendations can be tracked with
goal dates, priorities and completion
status and include a memo description.
Repairs can be tracked by work order
and approval status and also have a
memo description.
Six standard reports are available.
Localized corrosion

RBI methodology
Supports the use of RBI values from any
source to automatically control
inspection activity schedules. Activity
reports include the ability to update
current completion date, quality of
inspection and likelihood of failure
estimates in RBI calculators like
RISKCalc for generation of a new risk
level.
Allows any inspection activity report to
print with most recent RBI information.
Advanced corrosion monitoring
analysis
Provides statistical analysis for life
predictions based on overall system
corrosivity.
Enhances analysis with archive
corrosion rate calculation, growth
compensation, temperature correction
as well as a comprehensive zero
corrosion allowance tab to control
inspection due dates for 0 C.A. TMLs
and equipment.

Analyze localized corrosion on piping

as recommended in API 579 with ASME
B31G to determine MAOP.
Calculates a critical date for prioritizing
repairs, documents the date and type
of repairs and prints report showing
calculations.
Two fixed-format text reports.
Inspection personnel
Track all in-house and contracted
inspection personnel at a site. Store
general information, including digital
photographs.
List all current certifications with pass
dates and re-test intervals.
List all authorized UltraPIPE activities
for each inspector. Provide picklists for
all inspector I.D. fields throughout
UltraPIPE.

Construction application: Tanks,

vessels and piping
Construction application consists of
three sections and 69 windows that
allow you to document all (very
comprehensive) relevant design and
construction information for your
atmospheric storage tanks, pressure
vessels and piping circuits.
Each equipment section has been
designed to complete the data
management requirements for all of
your major fixed equipment. The
convenient and user-friendly tab
system organizes the information and
makes it easy to input design and
construction data.
Optional features
PVCalc: PVCalc is a comprehensive
engineering software package
developed to analyze in-service
pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
RISKCalc: Designed to meet API
580/581 compliance for performing a
Level 1 risk based inspection analysis
for fixed equipment. Assesses the
likelihood and consequence of failure
for fixed equipment and produces a
relative risk ranking for your plant.
Slurry piping: This feature handles the
requirements of slurry piping. Works in
conjunction with corrosion monitoring
where engineering information and
thickness measurements for inspection
bands with 12 readings are stored.

Provide reports for all of the above.
