Ch. 3 Exercise 2

I recently visited the ethisphere.com website in search of an ethically sound company to

analyze on their list of worlds most ethical companies. One of the companies I came across
was Ricoh USA, Inc. At first glance, it looked like any other company website with their Who
We Are and About Us pages along with other pages oriented toward their company work.
After further investigation, I found the reasons why Ricoh USA, Inc. was included in
Ethispheres list of ethically sound companies.
I visited their Who We Are page to get more information on the company and what they do. I
found many indications that they take pride in being an ethically and morally sound company
that excels at their profession. They provide information technologies to different industries like
healthcare, education, legal, etc. Upon learning about the company, I found a particularly
interesting reference to the founder of Ricoh, Kiyoshi Ichimura, and his vision for the company,
how we should treat each other and our planet called The Spirit of Three Loves. Kiyoshi said to
love your neighbor, love your country, and love your work. (Who We Are)
Kiyoshis company vision isnt the only indication of good ethics within Ricoh USA, Inc. The
companys mission, vision and values statement outlines their ethical standards. They explain
how the Ricoh Group strives to provide excellence to improve the quality of living, drive
sustainability, become a trusted global market, and operate with the highest standards of
ethics and integrity. It is clear why Ethisphere chose Ricoh USA, Inc. as one of the worlds
most ethical companies of 2016.
