The PORTVILLE COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY, located
at the First Presbyterian Church, 19 N. Main St., Portville, is
a volunteer organization of the Portville Community. It is a
supplemental and emergency food pantry seeking to serve the
residents of the Portville School district. Anyone who receives
assistance (food stamps, welfare, Social Security, etc.) and
resides in the Portville School District is eligible to receive food
from the Portville Community Food Pantry. The food pantry is
open the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon
and again from 6 to 8 p.m.

hearing aids for the Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing

The 4Cs met at the Richburg Firemans Clubhouse on the
8th of June with 24 members and one guest present and Clara
Robinson winning the door prize and the 50/50 drawing. There
was no speaker and bingo was played for entertainment.
Fun was had by many on the recent trip to Cambridge
Springs PA which included a humorous play about Nuns
making wine. The next trip will be Monday, July 12th for a
tour of the Medina Stone Farm which portrays life of that
time. Classics from the 40s, 50s and 60s will be performed by
Ron and Nancy OneSong. Departure time from Richburg is 9
a.m. with return about 6:30 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for July 22nd with Letizia
Tagliafierro speaking for the NYS Attorney Generals Office.
Cakes will be provided by Imogene Sturdevant, Ethel Hint and
Clara Robinson.

Wellsville (June 8, 2010) - Tradition is important to many families. It is something that is passed on from one generation to
the next. For the Joyce Family of Andover, giving back to the community is a family tradition that stretches back over decades and
continues today. In honor of that spirit of caring for the community, Jones Memorial Hospital has named The Joyce Family as the
1921 Associate of the Year.
The Joyce Family has been a major contributor to the Hospital for many years, said Eva Benedict, CEO at Jones Memorial.
Individually and as a group, the family continues to be among our most generous and committed donors. Headed by Charles H.
and Lorraine Joyce, the family includes four children Charles P. (Sherry Walton), Richard (Tina), Cheryl Jackson (Michael
Jackson) and Teresa - as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. As the family business - Otis Eastern - has
grown, so has the familys commitment to the communities in which they live and work.
Because they are usually quietly supporting local fundraisers and organizations behind the scenes, we are delighted that the
family has accepted both this honor and the public recognition of their generosity, Mrs. Benedict added. It is our hope that
everyone who can will be able to join us to thank the Joyce Family for their support of so many organizations in this community.
According to Mrs. Benedict, the 1921 Garden Reception is open to anyone who has made a gift between September 2009 and
August 1, 2010 - the date of this years event. This is a chance for the hospital to say thank you to our most committed donors and
to honor someone they have chosen as especially dedicated, she said. Early each year, donors who have reached the $250 level or
higher in the previous year are invited to nominate someone who has had a positive impact on the hospital and their community as
the Associate of the Year.
