DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS AND RATES FOR THE SHIFTING/REHABILITATION OF
DN 16" X 140 PSIG, DN 12" X 50 PSIG AND DN 8" X 50 PSIG GASLINE ALONG THE LAKE
AT HATIRJHEEL, TEJGAON, DHAKA (UNDER CUSTOMER FINANCED)
ITEM NO. A.1: MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION
Mobilization and Demobilization of contractor's personnel, equipment, machineries etc. including Erection
of furnished site office, arrangement of power supply etc.
ITEM NO. A.2: HAULING & CARRYING, CONSTRUCTION AND PURGING & PNEUMATIC
TESTING OF PIPELINES
This item includes Hauling and Carrying of line pipes, valves, Coating and Wrapping materials, fittings
and all other pipeline materials ( to be supplied by company) from Demra or any other Titas store to site,
storage of pipes and materials at different locations. Pipeyard to be arranged by the contractor at his own
cost. Construction of DN 16" x 140 psig, DN 12" x 50 psig and DN 8" x 50 psig gas pipelines from the
existing 16" x 140 psig, DN 12" x 50 psig and DN 8" x 50 psig gas lines respectively along the lake at
Hatirjhil, Tejgaon, Dhaka as per drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in-charge, including stringing
of pipes along the pipeline route, digging of trial holes, bell-holes cleaning of pipes, application of coat and
wrap, trenching, lowering of pipe at a suitable distance (minimum cover = 1.22 m/4 ft) from the top of the
pipe surface, back filling with local sand, special precautionary measures for other utility line crossing,
Liason with concerned authority etc. and Pneumatic Testing, Purging and Commissioning of the newly
constructed DN 16" x 140 psig, DN 12" x 50 psig and DN 8" x 50 psig gas pipelines (Test Pressure = 1.5
x Design Pressure) as per drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The item includes supply
and arrangement of necessary testing equipment, compressor and all other related materials to perform the
work such as Pressure Gauge, Temperature Gauge, Chart Recorder, Charts, other fittings etc at Contractor's
own cost.
ITEM NO. A.3: BUTT WELDING
The item includes butt-welding of line pipe, pipes to fittings, fittings to fittings, pipe to valves as per
specification, including beveling, cutting, fabrication, end wall thickness reducing, re-beveling as required
for any reason etc. complete in all respect as per drawing/design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The
cost of electrodes and any other materials required for the work is included within the scope of this item.
The item also includes welding of pipeline materials to line pipe as per specification, including beveling,
cutting, fabrication, end wall thickness reducing, re-beveling as required for any reason etc. complete in all
respect as per drawing/design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The cost of electrodes and any other
materials required for the work is included within the scope of this item.
ITEM NO. A.4: CANAL CROSSING BY OPEN CUT METHOD:
This item includes canal crossing by open cut method (considering the double laying in one crossing i.e.,
DN 16" (140 psig) and DN 8" (50 psig) gas lines in one crossing/ trench and DN 12" (50 psig) and DN 8"
(50 psig) gas lines in other crossing/ trench) including stringing of pipes along the pipeline route, cleaning
of pipes, trenching, lowering of pipe, back filling with local sand, special precautionary measures etc.
complete in all respect as per specification/design/drawing and direction of Engineer-in-charge.

ITEM NO. A.5: APPLICATION OF RCC COATING:
This item includes application of continuous reinforced concrete (1:2:4) coating of thickness of 3" with
mesh wire net and reinforcement over the wrapped pipe as per standard drawing/ design and direction of
Engineer-in-charge. Item includes supply of all materials.
ITEM NO. A.6 : BREAKING AND PROVISIONAL RE-INSTATEMENT:
This item includes breaking and provisional re-instatement of brick/pucca/asphalt surface including
complete sand filling as per drawing/design and direction of Engineer-in-charge.
ITEM NO. A.7: SUPPLY AND PLACEMENT OF PVC SLLEVES:
This item includes supply & placement of PVC sleeves on pipeline where T & T, Electric Cable etc.
exists in pipeline trench as per drawing/design and direction of Engineer-in-charge.
ITEM NO. A.8: APPLICATION OF NDT TESTING:
This item includes application of Non Destructive Testing (NDT Radiography Testing) over the pipe at
Butt-Welding Joints as per specification/ drawing/ design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. Item
includes supply of all materials.
ITEM NO. A.9: TIE-IN OPERATION
A.9.1: Tie-in of the newly constructed DN 16" x 140 PSIG gas pipeline with the existing DN 16" x
140 PSIG pipeline at the both sides of the said lake at Hatirjhil, Tejgaon after digging of tie-in hole,
land slide protection using necessary materials (i.e., shall-bullah, drum sheet, wood, rope etc.)
depressurizing, cutting/removal of existing pipeline and materials, fabrication of short piece, fitting,
welding, application of coat and wrap, backfilling by sand in all respect as per specification,
drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The contractor shall take necessary safety
measures at his own cost and supply gas bags to create inert environment. Requisite nos. of
Nitrogen, CO2 cylinders will be supplied by the contractor.
A.9.2: Tie-in of the newly constructed DN 12" x 50 PSIG gas pipeline with the existing DN 12" x 50
PSIG pipeline at the both sides of the said lake at Hatirjhil, Tejgaon after digging of tie-in hole, land
slide protection using necessary materials (i.e., shall-bullah, drum sheet, wood, rope etc.)
depressurizing, cutting/removal of existing pipeline and materials, fabrication of short piece, fitting,
welding, application of coat and wrap, backfilling by sand in all respect as per specification,
drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The contractor shall take necessary safety

A.9.3: Tie-in of the newly constructed DN 8" x 50 PSIG gas pipeline with the existing DN 8" x 50
PSIG pipeline at the both sides of the said lake at Hatirjhil, Tejgaon after digging of tie-in hole, land
slide protection using necessary materials (i.e., shall-bullah, drum sheet, wood, rope etc.)
depressurizing, cutting/removal of existing pipeline and materials, fabrication of short piece, fitting,
welding, application of coat and wrap, backfilling by sand in all respect as per specification,
drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in-charge. The contractor shall take necessary safety
measures at his own cost and supply gas bags to create inert environment. Requisite nos. of
Nitrogen, CO2 cylinders will be supplied by the contractor.

ITEM NO. A.10: REMOVING OF ABANDONED PIPES AND MATERIALS:

This item includes removing of abandoned pipe (DN 16) after cutting into 12 meter or suitable sized
pieces as per direction of Engineer-in-charge and carrying of the same and other materials from site to
Demra store.
