Conclusions

Tenova Lab Jig

- Produces a trapezoidal wave
- Adjustments to jig time, pulse frequency
and stroke length can be made.

Material Used
-1-6 mm iron ore fines
- Blend of
-Hard Laminated Ore
- Lateritic Ore
- Soft Laminated Ore
- Friable Ore
-Challenging because of
- fines (1-6 mm)
- presence of LO, flat and
porous particles, NGM

Objectives of the Test Work

- To understand the kinetics of particle segregation in Jig Bed
- To verify whether dynamic equilibrium of particle bed is reached during jigging
- To see effect of jig time on grade-recovery curves of jig performance
- To see the effect of feed head grade on grade-recovery curve

Conclusions

Batch Jig bed settles rather quickly attains an equilibrium state

The current ore shows a tougher segregation pattern to improve grade-recovery curve

Improved head grade (above 61.5% Fe) improves the grade-recovery curve and hence
the yield of the final concentrate @ 63.5 - 64%Fe.
