REMINDERS AND NEW EVENTS

Year-Rounders Round-Up!
We are looking for volunteers to help us with this event on Friday, June 18th. If you are
interested in either setting up, decorating, prepping/helping in the kitchen, or cleaning up,

Florence 2nd Annual 4th of July Freedom Parade at Anthem!

The 4th of July is just around the corner and its time to start planning your entry for the 2nd
Annual Freedom Parade. Golf carts, classic cars, bicycles or any other unique vehicle
(decorated for the day) may enter. For the more energetic, why not walk, jog or run the parade
route proudly wearing red, white & blue? This event is open to all Anthem residents as well as
residents from the Town of Florence. Lets show everyone how proud we are to be a part of
such a beautiful community in this great country. Whether a parade participant or a spectator,
get out your red, white & blue and participate in the 2nd Annual 4th of July Freedom Parade! If
you want to be a parade participant you must register by Monday, June 28th to receive a
medal. Pick up a registration form at the Sun City Union Center or register on-line at
www.oursuncityamr.net under Events & Activities. Medals and prizes will be awarded in
specific categories. The parade will end at the Anthem Community Park with a brief patriotic
ceremony consisting of the Pledge of Allegiance and Presentation of the Colors followed by a
Patriotic performance by the Anthem Community Choir and much, much more. For more

On Tuesday, June 29th between 5:00pm 8:00pm, come and join us for some great FUN! The
cost is $5 per person and includes food, beverages and lots of outdoor games! CASH BAR for
beer and wine! Register by Sunday, June 27th.

Casino Trip: Meet at Union Center at 8:45am for transportation to the casino.

Coffee & Conversation: Annuities Basics: How did we get here and what do we do now? At
10:00am in the Classroom. This seminar is going to focus on understanding annuities and
walk residents through aspects of the recent market volatility, the emotional rollercoaster, the
impact of poor sequence of returns and what residents can do now. It will help you discover
the differences in types of annuities and find a good fit for you. Make sure to join Chris
Housley, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments, at the Sun City Anthem Union
Center Classroom at 10:00am. Breakfast will be available.
FREE Group Fitness Class: YOGA: At 2:30pm in the Fitness Center.

TUESDAY, JUNE 15th

Yappy Hour: At 7:00pm in the Ballroom Patio. Bring your pup and a beverage for yourself.
Pets can mix and mingle! Please make sure that pets have current vaccinations. Dont forget
to pick up after your pets!

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16th

FREE Blood Pressure Checks: Between 9:00am 11:00am in the Fitness Center

Between 7:00pm 9:00pm in the Ballroom. Get out of the heat and join your friends and
neighbors for an evening of root beer floats and great music! Dance to the sounds of Guilty
Pleasures, a popular Phoenix-based, 4-piece band playing classic & new country and rock-n-
roll from the 50s-'90s. There will be plenty of munchies and FREE soft drinks, as well. Come
and enjoy the evening! Register by Wednesday, June 17th.

Portal Training: At 2:00pm in the Classroom, come and learn how to navigate through our new
portal! Its FREE!

THURSDAY, JUNE 24th

Happy Hour: Between 4:00pm 6:00pm, come and meet your new neighbors and mingle with
other residents at the Union Center Caf and Patio. Drinks start at $1.50. Snacks will be
provided.

Dinner & Movie: Avatar: The cost is $7.00 per person and includes a variety of pizzas from
Barros (including thin crust), salad, soda/water, popcorn and candy. Gluten-free pizza upon
request. Dinner is at 6:00pm. Movie starts at 6:30pm. Register by Wednesday, June 23rd.

SATURDAY, JUNE 26th

First Aid & CPR Training Course: Between 10:00am 5:00pm in the Card Room. The cost is
35.00 per person.
