5) Consider a series RC circuit where the input x(t) is the source voltage, and the output y(t) is the
voltage across the capacitor. Let R=2 and C= 1 F.
a) Obtain a differential equation relating the output y(t) to the input x(t).
b) Let the applied voltage be 1 V, what would the response y(t) be like if the capacitor is initially
not charged. Now, let the input voltage be 2 V, what would the response be? What do you
conclude about linearity of the circuit?
