D. Brief Summary of the Project
The Department of Health, in line with the Administrative
Order No. 20100021 signed last June 25, 2010 has indicated in the objectives
that at least 60% of all
barangays have been declared ZOD (
Zero Open Defecation) status and all barangays nationwide by
year 2022.
Last August 22, 2016 September 11, 2016 the
municipality of Cabucgayan had an outbreak of Acute Watery
Diarrhea caused by Rotavirus mostly in the pediatirc age group
particularly in Brgys. Bunga, Esperanza, Libertad, Casiawan
and Magbangon. Other barangays have been affected but
number of cases were few. The families affected most were
those without toilets and with poor sanitation practices. One
mortality was reported in Brgy. Bunga.
E. Project Goals and Objectives
A disease-free community is our main goal.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1. Attain ZOD 11. 1% by end of 2016
2. Decrease zero mortality of Acute Watery Diarrhea
3. WATSAN & Hygiene Information Education Campaign

G. Target Beneficiaries
The Local Health Board decided to prioritize the smallest
number

ofhouseholds without toilets specifically these barangays so


that we will be able to achieve 5 ZOD barangays. Our target
beneficiaries were Caanibongan have 17 households,
Salawad have 22 , Esperanza 34, Libertad 50 and Talibong 51.
A total of 174 households.
