About Us:
The Orangeburg Lady Cubs Volleyball Club was started and directed by
Mrs. Denolis Wright, in the fall of 2006 as the Orangeburg Lady Cubs Club Jrs., A member of the
Palmetto Region, Palmetto Volleyball Association/USVA for the state of South Carolina. We started with
one team and have slowly expanded to 9 teams this year. A fundamental approach to the game, the
establishment of a strong work ethic and a tremendous continuity in the coaching staff are attributes
which have made OLCVC a successful club experience for so many players over the years.
1. Introduction to Club Handbook
The Orangeburg Lady Cubs Club Handbook has been produced for all existing and new members
and is designed to outline the policies and ethos of running the club.
2. Mission Statement
Through our mission, we aim to work hard on the following core values:
*We will support the development of volleyball within the city/county of Orangeburg, the palmetto
region.
*We aim to help all members whether players, coaches or officials to reach their full potential by
providing experiences and opportunities at all levels from local through to regional and national
standard.
*By providing quality training volleyball techniques that can be taken to the
collegiate level.
*By teaching sportsmanship, competition, fair play positive reinforcement, and accountability
through volleyball
*By providing a clean, respectable and comfortable environment-Win or Lose
By giving athletes an opportunity to excel through the sport of volleyball.
*By meeting each athletes' goals of collegiate playing
It is expected that team personnel, administration, parents, and spectators respect this mission.

Orangeburg Lady Cubs Volleyball Club (OLCVC) supplement and support the academic and athletic
missions of the school system and assist students in their growth and development with volleyball.
OLCVC assists in promoting the importance of teamwork, effort, goals, and commitment. OLCVC is
highly competitive, sportsmanship, respect for participants, and dignity in the face of adversity are
more important than the outcome of the contest.

Orangeburg Lady Cubs Volleyball Club Parent Contract

As parent(s) of a player(s) in OLC VBC we agree to ALL of the following:
Commitment and Attitude:
I am serious about my commitment to OLC and will do my part to have my daughter come to every practice and tournament that is scheduled. I understand that
the Magnum coaches are looking to the best interest of my daughter as well as all of the other players on the team as a whole and I will trust them to run practice
and tournaments accordingly. I understand that being involved in Magnum VBC is a privilege that was offered to me and is not a right. I will not pull my daughter
out if she is unhappy but I will instead encourage her to do her best and try harder.
I understand that Magnum VBC does not allow poor attitudes in its club and I will accept OLCs decision to eject my daughter from the club if my daughter
continually shows a poor attitude, uncooperative behavior, or violates any of the rules on the OLC Player Contract that my daughter has signed.
I will cheer on my daughters whole team and not just focus on my daughter success. I will do my best to get along with the other parents. I will not talk badly
about a coach or another player to the other parents in the club.
Payments and finances:
I understand the cost of OLC and know that the cost must be paid in full each season and on time. I will either pay in full at the beginning of the season or make
all of my payments on time based on the OLC payment schedule. If I cannot afford to pay the scheduled payment on time I know that I have the option of paying
with my credit card so that I do not get a late fee. I understand that the late fee is $20 and will be enforced. It is my responsibility to contact the club director if
something changes and I cannot pay on time or use my credit card to stay on schedule.
I understand that if I do not make my payments on time my daughter will be penalized by either not being allowed to play in tournaments or participate in practice
until all payments are caught up.
I understand that if I choose to withdraw my daughter at any time during the season for any other reason than a season ending injury that Magnum will not refund
any money already paid and I must continue to finish paying the full amount for the season (if I have chosen the payment plan). If I do not finishing my
obligations from this season the PVA will not allow my daughter to play the next season for OLC or another club.
Playing time:

I understand that the money I have paid is for quality practice time and is not for my daughter to get equal playing time in tournaments. Playing time is earned in
practice with my child working hard, performing the necessary skills, and having a good attitude. I understand that the starters for the tournaments are determined
by the coaches during practice and I will not criticize their decisions. I will encourage my daughter to always try her hardest and will not come to a OLC coach or
director and ask for more playing time or any other inappropriate request.
For Parents of Club and Power level players- I understand that playing time at tournaments is not going to be equal for all players and that it is up to the coach
to determine what is best for the team when considering who to play.
For Parents of Elite Players- I understand that playing time at tournaments is not guaranteed to my daughter and I understand that my daughter might not
start/play substantial time the entire year if the coach does not feel that she has earned playing time.
Recruiting:I understand the rules of the PVA on Recruiting and I will not try to recruit a player from another club to play with OLC until after July 1 st of that
season. Also, I will not speak to any OLC player about playing for a different club until July 1 st of that year.
