This is further to the September 21, 2016 letter from the Information & Privacy Commissioner. I
am the Senior Information & Privacy Manager assigned to Request for Review 003690.

request.
The Applicant's Access Request and Review Concern

On April 26, 20 I 6, the Public Body received an access to infonnation request f om the Applicant
for 'any documents showing any costs associated with the proposal, development, marketing and
cancellation of the job creation incentive program, since May 5, 2015."
On June 29, 2016, the Public Body responded to the Applicant's access request by providing 14
pages of records. Some of the information in the records was severed, citing section 22
(Cabinet/Treasury Board confidences) and Section 24(1) (advice from officials) of the FOIP Act.
On July 5, 2016, the Applicant wrote to the Commissioner to request a review of the Public
Body's response. The Applicant is concerned that the Public Body did not properly apply sections
22 and 24 to the information severed from the records.
If I have not interpreted the Applicant's concerns correctly, I ask that he contact me to clarify as
soon as possible.
Issues

Based on the Applicant's concerns, the issues I will address are:

The Applicant's Access Request and Review Concern

On June 16, 20 I 6, the Public Body received an access to information request from the Applicant
for "a list of all moving expenses charged by staff in the Premier's Office to move to Alberta,
since May 5, 2015."
On July 4, 2016, the Public Body responded to the Applicant's access request by providing two
pages of records. Some of the information in the records was severed, citing Section 25
(Disclosure harmful to the economic interests of a public body) of the FOIP Act.
On July 5, 2016, the Applicant wrote to the Commissioner to request a review of the Public
Body's response. The Applicant is concerned that the Public Body did not properly apply section

25 to the information severed f om the records.
