Activities:

1. Students can choose to do one of the following activities:

Writing a poem to praise the revolutionary heroes.

(The culture of Chinese language is extensive and profound. And poetry teaching
is an essential part of Chinese language teaching. With regard to the themes of the
pome they will create, the themes can relate to revolutionary heroes, traditions of
Qingming Festival, Patriotism, and history. If the students have any other ideas,
teachers are glad to talk about them.)
Drawing a picture related to this red tour.

(By drawing pictures, students are allowed to express their ideas and thoughts in
a creative and visual way.)
Using white or yellow paper to make paper flowers and present them when
visiting Yuhuatai Martyrs cemetery.

(In Chinese culture, the color white and yellow is related to death and sacrifice,
while the color red is related to some happy events and festivals, such as wedding
and Spring Festival. In addition, traditionally, Chinese people bring white or
yellow flowers or paper flowers to offer sacrifices to those who has gone. I
suppose it is more meaningful to ask the students to make paper flowers by
themselves, which can also develop their manipulative ability.)
2. Reflection on this red tour:
Students will be asked to conclude what they have learnt from and reflect on this
tour.
3. Create a research project:

Basic requirements:
Trying to find a specific revolutionary hero, and then researching on him/her,
including this heros background, the reason why you choose to research on
him/her, and what you have learnt from him/her.
Students can create this research project individually or collaboratively.
Students need to present their research through video, PPT presentation,

websites, or any other effective forms.
