Students will work in groups to research one of three body systems.

Research will be focused on

creating a complete lesson plan based on a list of guidelines and curriculum requirements
established by the State of Connecticut and our school district. Each group will be responsible for
creating a visual aid, on the internet, that will be used in a class lesson that the student group will
teach to the class. The lesson will also include handouts, worksheets, note packets and an
assessment. In addition, each student in the group will be responsible for making a table poster
that contains all required information detailed below.
Each group will satisfy the following:
Lesson and Presentation created on www.Powtoon.com
Handouts-with notes, and spaces for students to take notes
Worksheets-homework and/or in-class assignments
20 question quiz

Describe its main functions
Explain how the circulatory system works with the digestive system.
Describe how the circulatory system reacts when we exercise. Be able to explain this in detail.
How can these changes be measured?
Explain how osmosis and diffusion occur within this system
Identify and explain each disease/disorder; Its condition, its causes, symptoms and treatments
Stroke
Congenital Heart Defect
Coronary Artery Disease
Explain how it functions to bring oxygen and nutrients to the cells and expels waste materials
Visuals to include in your lesson:
Diagram of the circulatory system (labeled and blank for students to fill in)
Diagram of osmosis/diffusion occurring within the system (labeled and blank for students to fill in)
Diagram of a heart (labeled and blank for students to fill in)

Checklist of Lesson Items

Use this list to help you (and your group) stay on track, and, to ensure that each part of your
lesson is complete. There are two times when the list should be initialed: Once when the
