- Naci el 21 de febrero de 1929 en la Ciudad de Mxico.

- Su hermano, Horacio Gmez Bolaos, personific a Godinez en captulos del Chavo
del ocho. Su otro to, Gustavo Daz Ordaz, fue presidente de Mxico de 1964 a 1970.
- Curs estudios de Ingeniera pero no ejerci.
- Se inici como creativo en la publicitaria D'Arcy, cuando tena 22 aos.
- Posteriormente escribi para radio, televisin y cine.
- Entre 1960 y 1965, dos programas se disputaban el primero y el segundo lugar de
audiencia en la televisin mexicana, "Estudio de Pedro Vargas" y "Cmicos y
Canciones", ambos los escriba l.
- En 1968 lo contrata la televisora TIM para un espacio de media hora cada sbado por
la tarde. As nacieron series como: "Los Supergenios de la Mesa Cuadrada" y "El
Ciudadano Gmez".
- Simultneamente naca la carrera de actor para "Chespirito".
- El primer captulo de El Chavo del Ocho se emiti el 20 de junio de 1971.
- El chavo del ocho y chespirito se transmitan en casi toda Amrica Latina, en 1973.
- En 1978, produjo, escribi y actu la pelcula "El Chanfle".
- Se cas el 19 de noviembre de 2004 con su compaera, la actriz mexicana Florinda
Meza "Doa Florinda".
- Su primera esposa fue Graciela Fernndez, con quien tuvo seis hijos.
- Roberto Gmez Bolaos falleci el viernes 28 de noviembre de 2014 en Cancn, a los
85 aos.
